We camped overnight before crossing the border into Botswana. The feel of the place when you stop is a little 'truck-stop-py' (you cannot see the accommodation from outside of the 'reception' area) and kind of off-putting but this is in no way a reflection on what the camp site is like. Checking in was friendly and fast and the shop...

I know that people that have camped here have rated this facility positively, and I can see why. However, we stayed in a self catering unit, so we are rating this kind of accommodation, not the camp site. The good thing about East Gate is the location, right on the border. The unit we were initially given wreaked of damp,...

When we travel from Gauteng to the coastal or northern parts of Namibia we make use of this venue. Its about 600 mts from the Namibia /Botswana border post. From Pretoria you already travelled a 1000 km and will not recommend any one to drive any further in the dark. There are plenty game around which makes travelling very dangerous...

Exceptionally good value for money!Friendly staff. Good shop and restaurant. I shall go back there any day to use them again. You have to experience how clean this camp is. It is quite clear that the owner takes pride in his/her campsite. Fantastic.

Stayed in the twin beds room with ensuite and kitchenette. Great place, clean spacious, calming grounds and great food from the restaurant. Also braai stands available. Plenty parking space and you get to park right next to your unit.

We rented the bungalow with 2-bed rooms for 4 persons, good price/performance ratio, clean rooms. It is to rest here when you don't know how long it takes to clear custom. Important to have air-condition in this region. WLAN access in the nearby restaurant worked perfectly!

I stopped over on route from Namibia to SA via the Trans-Kalahari highway. Camp in roof top tent, ablutions was clean and camp and general area was well looked after. A cool pool was also available to cool off in the hot summer days.

Clean ablutions and a welcome break from the road on route to SA via Botswana or just arriving at Namibia from SA via Botswana Trans Kalahari Route. Beautiful relaxing atmosphere with lots of bird life, frogs and crickets serenade you into dream land.

We left Windhoek and decided to stop over at East Gate as we were going to take a dirt track to Hukuntsi the next day and needed a full day. What a lovely surprise!!!! There are various applications and we chose a two bed, self catering, air conditioned unit. Very clean and comfortable and the restaurant served us a lovely...

A convenient and comfortable stop over by the border with camping, budget huts and chalets with aircon. All very clean and kept up to date - management clearly reinvests in the place which is good to see. The shop closes at 10pm and is well stocked.
