We have stayed at The Amora Hotel many times .It is our accomodation choice when in Melbourne. Overall it was a pleasant stay but we found the breakfast service poor still waiting for our pot of tea and I had to go to the counter 3 times to get some milk . It has never been like this in the past so am hoping it was an isolated incident and things will be improved next visit
I have reviewed the Amora Hotel Riverwalk before, twice, and not had a bad word to say about it. Our recent 5 day stay proved that the quality, consistency and the value remain. I have talked about the staff before - they are helpful, pleasant and efficient - and the food and wine - still of a great standard; it's a most welcoming place. This time I want to talk a little more about the location - so very pleasant indeed. Yes, it's right on Bridge Road, so book a courtyard room. Either the Bridge Road wing or the River Street wing provide balcony settings which afford delightful views toward the river and Christ Church Hawthorn, a wonderful old blue stone Anglican church, or up to Coppin Grove and Isabella Grove, old-world Hawthorn homes of elegance and charm. Yes, our stay was in the week after New Year and all the Victorians had gone to Queensland for a long awaited holiday, so it was really quiet in the mornings, sitting on the balcony and sharing coffee brewed in the in-house plunger. There is quality and consideration at the Amora, which you will appreciate. It comes from the top, Tim Bilston, the GM, and goes all the way through to the folk who made up our room everyday - pleasant, hard working people. Thank you Amora - see you next time!…
Great stay we will be back very reasonable pricing and the restaurant was excellent Good prompt service and delicious food The barramundi dish and pumpkin aglotonni were both first class Good wine list and pleasant surroundings We will return
Very easy check in experience. Our courtyard queen room was clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Not a big fan of shower over bath, but will probably stay here again. Such a handy location and accessible to trams into the city and walk along the river.
Due to an admission to Epworth hospital I was looking for a hotel that understood that I needed an early check in time. I found that at Amora. The staff were very helpful and met my needs. I will certainly return to this hotel not only for their service but also the standard of accommodation and restaurant
As the title suggests, the staff were extremely polite and helpful. And the location of the hotel is handy if you were wanting to stay outside of the city. We were visiting with family and that is why we choose this area of Melbourne. The hotel lobby/reception area, bar and restaurant have been recently updated. So initial impressions of the hotel were very promising. The rooms however are very dated and small. They are comfortable, clean and have various amenities available. A good hotel if you aren't after anything too fancy.
Hotel was good ,clean comfortable. Stayed for New Years eve event. Food was good. We had decided to stayed and had invited the friends we were going to the dinner with for drinks on our Balcony before the event. However we must have got the only room with the outside space we got. A little triangle at best 1 metre deep. Everyother room we could see had tables and chairs. Hotels answer was well we are fully booked. As they offer no non balcony rooms how they can sell this as a balcony we certainly feel ripped off and would not have stayed as the plans was to have pre dinner drinks there. Disappointed. If you stay make sure you demand what you are paying for.
I wasn’t sure what to expect staying here but it far exceeded my expectations. It was modern inside, really spacious rooms with fantastic amenities. Super comfortable bed, big bathroom. Everything you could wish for. Right near trams and a lot of nice restaurants.
I booked the Amora as it was close to a function we were attending. What a wonderful surprise this gem of a hotel turned out to be! It is very well appointed 'and many features of what was once and old tram depot highlighted. There was a fireplace and a restaurant/cafe, giving a cosy feel as we entered .The taff on the front desk were friendly and efficient. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. We loved that it opened onto a small patio with a table and two chairs. Bonus when we can get fresh air in a Hotel The room was well supplied with amenities, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Only negative - the walls are paper thin and when we were in bed, we could hear our 'neighbours' talking and it was as if we were all in the room together! Breakfast was a buffet with the usual choices. and it was very good. There is also a guest laundry. We didn't use it but felt it was another bonus. The Hotel is right next to the Yarra River with access to riverside walking/riding paths. The tram stop is directly outside the Hotel with access to the City, Docklands, Hawthorn etc, We only stayed one night but could easily have stayed more. This will be our Hotel of choice whenever we stay in Melbourne.…
It's been our pleasure to stay at the Amora Riverwalk many times but I wanted to write about two things since I last contributed. Firstly, the reservations staff are terrific. Because of Covid and lockdowns and all that sort of thing the booking we had made was moved, cancelled, put on hold...Jeanette in reservations was a champion and we have visited twice now since Victoria rose from the gloom of Covid confinement. Secondly, there have been renovations and the new restaurant and bar areas are really a great place to sit, relax and enjoy company. The staff at breakfast were wonderful and quite a delight for 6.30 am! The bar has a tapas menu and the quality of the food is really quite good. The Gin Paddle was an excellent sample of locally produced spirits - even the tonic was Melbourne made. Oh, and the front desk folk are champs too! A delightful experience again. Thank you Amora…
