Detailed Reviews
I’ve stayed with the Element brand in the USA and this hotel is keeping to what makes Element a great brand.
Our room was large, clean and well appointed. I love that you can chrome cast directly to your TV and the room had ample power and USB ports.
The hotel itself was warm and welcoming. The staff are very nice and friendly. We were warmly welcomed when we checked in and this was the first Marriott hotel to actually acknowledge us being a platinum member and offered a welcome gift and room upgrade - thank you for for training your staff!
We ate breakfast in the restaurant and it was very nice and peaceful. Whilst it wasn’t the largest Buffett I’ve seen, it had plenty of your breakfast staples and the food was fresh.
If your concerned about the distance to the city, don’t be! There is a tram stop right outside the hotel and the hotel can sell you a Myki card. It doesn’t take look to get to the city or Richmond, which has great bars, shops and eating places.

This is the only Element Hotel in Australia and is a lower level Westin that provided a large room that was modern and neat and is designed for extended stays. The room and the hotel was tastefully decorated and the enviroment relaxed adjacent to Burnley Gardens.Location had both its positives and negatives as there is not much around the area although the tram to Richmond and the City runs outside. Staff were pleasant and courteous. Parking was an issue as the place was conjested on arrival. Mint Lane did a reasonably good job at breakfast. Overall a pleasant Marriott property.

This is a new hotel in the suburb of Richmond. Room was very clean and regularly serviced. Staff were helpful. Restaurant was not very busy and there was no mini bar in the room. It’s well positioned if you want a quieter location but it’s very easy to get into town as there’s a tram stop very close to the hotel. Would recommend this hotel and it’s also quite good value.

Room was clean and comfortable, the bed was a delight to sleep on and staff were friendly!
The best part of our stay was the hot tub, the bonus of being a pet friendly stay was also such a great bonus and made a night away a lot less stressful for us.
But I have to make mention that the food was well below average and a total let down. We stayed one night with plan to just enjoy quiet time and enjoying food being cooked for us. We ordered various items off the menu for late lunch, dinner and breakfast and most meals were stone cold as well there was many dishes that were not as advertised on the menu e.g. southern fried chicken bites with aioli were plain chicken bites (that were terrible) with sweet chilli sauce. The charcuterie meat board that came with warm sourdough and antipasto instead came with lavosh and a nut mix (partner has nut allergy which is why we chose the charcuterie over the cheese platter). Perhaps update the menu to reflect what the kitchen is supplying.
I would expect better quality of food from a cheap eatery, especially for the prices charged I was a bit disappointed in the quality of food we received.
For anyone staying longer than a night there are plenty of facilities to enjoy including karaoke, games rooms and more.
I would recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne, though would suggest dining out at a local restaurant instead.

Stayed here multiple times prior to COVID and couldn’t speak highly enough of the hotel and staff. Came back recently for first stay since COVID and sad the whole experience had changed. Hotel and facilities are still great, and location is brilliant but clearly new staff and poor attention to detail. First surprise was the almost tripling of parking charges to $35 per night and even after showing the supervisor where I previously paid $12, she wasn’t at all interested. Surprisingly she even told me I should be thankful as I got a very good room rate ! Then my TV wouldn’t work, so asked for the remote to be checked….and was told to just turn TV off at the power point and on again and it would reset. Needless to say for every night of my stay I had to climb over and reset the TV every time I wanted to watch it. I generally hang my bath towels after use, on a number of occasions house keeping didn’t change the towels - when a room has been dark and cold all day with damp towels, guess what they’re damp at night when you return. I came back on Sunday afternoon around 2pm and went to order a coffee at the bar and was told they were closed, despite the staff member clearly making coffee for herself. We ran out of toilet paper in our room, I called the front desk and got voice mail. Messaged via the hotel app and got an automated response they were busy, called front desk again 30 mins later and finally got someone who sent toilet paper up.
My past experience at this hotel was that the staff couldn’t do enough to help and be of service, sadly that’s changed….the staff really didn’t look happy or motivated, to me they were just doing their job.
I like the location of this hotel and hopefully this was a one off bad experience due to new staff and will give it one more try on my next business trip to Melbourne, but the reality is there are many other options out there than to have to put up with poor service.

we stayed a week at this hotel and everyday we stress about the housekeeping. Each evening when we return to the room, either the room has not been serviced, or badly serviced: floor not vacuum-cleaned, toilet has not been cleaned, bathroom floor left with footprints, sink area not cleaned.
otherwise, the room is comfortable and the bed is good.

The building is only a few years old but already showing early signs of wear in public areas. However the room itself was very clean and well designed. We stayed in a base rate room and while on the smaller side was ample space for what we needed. The king bed was very comfortable and the shower was spacious and great pressure. A coffee machine with pods is provided.
Access to the hotel from the west is extremely easy but if you are approaching from the east there is no way to turn right into the hotel and you have to go a fair way down the road before you can turn around and come all the way back. Once on property there is a nice curved driveway to park while you are checking in.
Parking onsite was $35 but as I had read these reviews I knew to ask about the street parking and was told it would cost $15. I said ‘I thought on the weekends it was free’ and they responded ‘oh yes, we can give you complimentary parking’ (Haha). The staff were very friendly.
The street parking is on the street along the nearby river (Yarra Blvd) and takes 1 min to walk across a grass parkland to this street. On the weekend it seemed a very quiet street and safe to park. This street parking is metered parking between 8am-5pm Mon- Fri so the hotel can provide a pass for $15 but if your stay is outside these hours you can park for free. The tram station is immediately out the front of this hotel so although it is a fair way from the CBD it is easy access to Melbourne.
Our T.V. remote was not working (maybe old batteries) so we were unable to watch T.V. and the clock beside the bed lit up the time while the lights were on but seemed to be light activated because once all lights were switched of it also switched off so you could not see the time during the night - so keep your phone clock handy.

Very modern hotel with nice views. Very clean. Fantastic that it is dog friendly. Bikes on site are a fantastic addition especially the one with the big basket which was perfect to put our two dogs in and ride to the city. along the beautiful Yarra River Trail. (8km away)
Very unfortunate that this hotel doesn't have kitchen facilities. Even a sink to fill up a waterbottle would have been nice as it was in the image we saw online before hand.
We found that you had to ask for everything, for example bottles of water, dog beds and crockery etc. Housekeeping was very good.
Activity Rooms up stairs were a nice added feature which would be great for familys or those young at heart. We didn't use the gym but it was very modern and clean.
TV was a good size with additional channels and even chromecastable which was nice.
There was a projector screen outside but then no projector. It appears this room used to have one perhaps? This was only a minor annoyance.
Also it would be good if there were bins available out the fron to dispose of your dog waste.
Closest Supermarket (IGA) is about 2.5 km away so just be prepared to walk if you want to grab some everyday essentials.
There was however a restaurant downstairs for breakfast lunch and dinner which we never used.

We checked in late night and it was cold and rainy outside but the welcome was warm. Our room was perfect, beds are extremely comfortable, Bathroom was big with nice shower space and all amenities placed.
Hotel has a very fresh feeling to it, beautiful painting the greens, interior, colour, art love it.
Property is non smoking but don’t worry you’ll love the smoking zone it’s scenic. There is no mini bar in the room but everything and more is placed at the front office, you’ll 😍 love it.
Food is brilliant 😋
Its just a walk away from bus and train stop and they have cycles 🚲 to chill around.
The Mykee card for public transport is available with the hotel, so buy it before to leave.
They have a beautiful space to read and sip coffee, I read about the local produce of Australia there and bought few (information which was not available on Google).
Love the place, thank you Bryan and team 🤗
