Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Title summarises it all. The owners are fantastic, honest, friendly, open and just simply kind. we had a fireplace started for us on our arrival!! what a treat.
Location is absolutely perfect - google maps is your friend!!
Practical and very convenient cottages, Huge bathroom and shower, well equipped and help is just around the corner if you run into issues.
Note, it's not your 5 star hotel in the city but it just awesome country style accommodation. Its right for it purpose and location!!
Thank you again for having us and we will be back soon.

May be a little deceiving on arrival as they are currently under going construction on the property.
Once you get to your cottage it is a quaint farm stay. The owner/manager of the property ensures you have plenty of everything. She even went to the main house and got a DVD the she thought we would like.

We recently stayed here.
First impressions driving into the property showed a lot of clutter. An unpainted fence that needed repairs made, nothing like the photos we had seen.
At the front door of our cottage was lots of spider webs that could easily have been broomed down, more webs were outside on other parts of the walls.
Inside looked quite tidy but apparent that no dusting had been done before our arrival. Dust on TV cabinet and window sills.
There was a BBQ outside but so dirty, looked like it had not been cleaned for a long time, there was no cooking for us on it that was for sure.
Later in the night we discovered a nice web with a nice black spider residing in the toilet. Dare we say the supplied flyspray got a workout.
I pulled back my doona on one of the single beds before going to bed and let me say what I say on the underneath of the doona cover was not clean (looked like old blood), so I used the supplied blanket to sleep that night.
The spa bath was dusty and not as clean as I would like it and the shower really needed a good clean in the grout on the lower tiles and floor. None of us decided to use either on our visit.
The grass had been recently mowed but there were grass clippings under the veranda that were not swept up so we ended up walking it inside.
The only positive was the breakfast, more than ample with bacon, eggs, box of cereal and bread for toast. There was also a reasonable amount of toiletries in the bathroom.

We attended a wedding and booked this place on the glowing recommendations made by previous travellers on .
The receptionist lady (?owner) was pleasant enough.
The reception area was... well not a reception area in the usual meaning of the word, but a tiny cluttered work room of some sort.
The grounds were unkempt.
The paid for breakfast was cook-your-own white bread, butter, jam, eggs, raw bacon and sugary cereal in the cottage's kitchen.
The cottage was clean, but the opposite of luxurious/homely.
Driving back at night along the highway, there are no (nil, zip, nada) lights or signs of any type to identify the position of the hotel and in rain and pitch darkness, we were ready to spend the night in our car at the roadside when we accidently stumbled onto our accommodation.

The farm is currently undergoing renovations, but we enjoyed our stay.

The owner came out to welcome us and upon finding out that my daughter likes animals, promptly invited us to come out with her to put the goats away for the evening.

On the way to see them we met Great Danes and their puppies, as well as a variety of chickens. My daughter was thrilled to be allowed to hold a puppy, and to feed and pat the goats to her hearts content.

Back at the house we picked blood plums straight off the tree (there were also other fruit trees/grapes and figs that would be ripe at different times of the year) and played a family game in the evening. The owner advised us of all the local take away places and we had bacon, eggs and homemade jam on toast for breakfast.

The owner also shared that she is in the process of gaining a display license in order to have kangaroos/possums for visitor interaction in the future which would be a great addition to the property.

Once their renovations are complete I see great potential for their property

The hospitality is second to none. Roseanne was so welcoming. Stayed with our three boys 2,4,5. They loved the pony and all the animals. Lots of room to run around. Perfect location and homely accomodation. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at DixiGlen Farm in a family group of 12 in the Shady Oak Cottage.
Hosts Rosann & Graeme were very welcoming and the cottage was well equiped and clean. A bathroom for each of the 4 bedrooms is fantastic, and the seating in both dining and lounge areas easily accommodated everyone.
Heaters already turned on for our arrival, a personalised welcome door sign and breakfast basket were all nice touches. We were able to cook our own meals in the well equiped kitchen, and the kids had plenty of room to play both inside and out.
Rosann & Graeme were happy to show us around the farm, and happily made time to assist the children to interact with the animals.
Thank you for having us :)
