So wasn't sure where to go to take my mum for Mothers Day, decided to give Bleak House a try. I am so glad I did, it was my mum, sister and myself. The food was amazing and so was the service, quite often you go somewhere and you are served by moody teenagers who would rather be somewhere else....

My boyfriend and I travelled to Broadstairs with the implicit desire to stay at history-steeped Bleak House. The notion of spending a weekend in front of a moody/broody ocean while surrounded by Charles Dicken’s memorabilia and era-appropriate furnishings greatly appealed and I have to say, the experience delivered on all accountability. Firstly, the house itself is well-appointed and it truly...

We stayed here on a mid week stop over to avoid a 200 mile return trip home between meetings. It was simply stunning. The house, artefacts, staff, open fires and access to all areas was just stunning. Jeff recommended a superb Italian Posillipo just down the way for dinner. He booked us a table which was needed even on a...

On arrival the porter called me 'young man'', brilliant! He gave us a very warm welcome, carried our bags and showed us to our room 'Little Dorrit'. The house was warm and the decor Victorian in style and quite charming. Lovely view from the room across the crenellated walls towards the sea. We walked to the restaurants in Broadstairs (Less...

We took the express train from London and were in Broadstairs in less than 90 minutes. Obviously, a seaside town would be quite bustling in the summer, but we were there just before Christmas and it was wonderful. Many shops and pubs still open and the feel of the town was a perfect antidote to the clamour of London. We...

Stayed in the Copperfield room Christmas night , the room was outstanding,a huge very comfortable bed, amazing bathroom with underfloor heating and a private balcony overlooking Viking Bay. The following morning we enjoyed one of the best full English breakfasts we've ever had.

Extremely expensive for this kind of accommodation. Poor breakfast and very weird surrealistic stuff. Bad water pressure, no wifi.At the same time room was big, the view was nice. But it definitely should cost less!!!

Good afternoon In response to your review, here at Bleak House we strive for all our guests to have an enjoyable experience. At breakfast we offer a continental buffet plus an extensive hot food menu which we are praised for. Our establishment has wifi but our location in Broadstairs is notorious for intermittent connection & as for the water pressure...

Bleak House used to be known as Fort House and overlooks Viking Bay and the North Foreland. It was built around 1801 and extended in 1901 to make it twice its size. Charles Dickens is said to have spent his summer holidays at Fort House in the 1850s and 1860s and it was here that he was said to have...

In response to your review, we have a fantastic smugglers museum here at Bleak House which has been researched extensively. In the museum there is a lot to see & it all depends how interested you are in history, if so people spend hours enjoying the experience. We are the home of Charles Dickens where he wrote the famous novels...

We had phoned up prior to visit to check we could look at Dicken's study. However, when we arrived we were told it wasn't open! The lady was very kind though and allowed us to see the room anyway (only because we arrived at a convenient time though) It was interesting as was the smugglers cellars

We strive here at Bleak House for all our visitors to have a memorable & enjoyable experience. That week in question we were closed for half days while essential maintenance work had to be undertaken in which we had no control over & could not forecast. We only apologies for this inconvenience.
