I recently spent 2 weeks here, 15th time at this hotel - that is a testament in itself. Why do i go back time and time again? The staff are always friendly and welcoming and all provide a great service from the cleaners right up to the management, and I always feel like I'm at home here. The outside areas are kept immaculate with beautiful gardens. There is a lovely outside bar with ample seating to watch the beautiful sunset and a lovely food area which serves fresh pizza, greek salad and giros along with lots of other tasty food during the day. One day there was a mezze at lunch and it was amazing. I stay in the older part of the hotel and although the rooms are a little dated they are always spotlessly clean throughout, they also have a bath which is a godsend. The restaurant front is covered but open overlooking the sea, there is a wide choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. I particularly loved the home made omelettes for breakfast. Kostas, the restaurant manager is very attentive and helpful. Thanks go to the lovely girls, Rena, Renaloulou and all the other ones I can't remember. Balu is in charge of animation and with his team run the day and night time activities and entertainment. Particularly good was the Oktoberfest day with live bands (Jersey Boys and Beatles) and draft beer - brilliant atmostphere! There is also a music quiz which is really funny - especially when the guests join in. There was a power cut for most of the day, but this was NOT the fault of the hotel it was the electric company outside cables. All the staff all did the best they could in very difficult circumstances, most guests just go on with their day or went out but there were a few that just seemed out to cause trouble and cause unrest. Special thanks go to the lovely Alina, who is a delight, Nikos, Kyriakos, Spiros (bar comedian),Natalia, Ivanka, Mike and Maria.

Location: on the west of the island 15mins bus ride (€2.20) from Rhodes town. Looking at Turkish coast 10miles away The hotel is beach front where as other hotels (5*) on this coast have the road between the beach & the sea. Beach: clean and safe to swim in the sea. It is a pebble beach so flip flops etc are essential for any foray. Watersports jet skis windsurfing are for rent. Weather: it is windy on this coast due to the trade winds. This means it was not too hot. October was 21-26* Food: it is a cut above the usual all inclusive international buffet. It caters for a wide range of nationalities but basically if you can’t find anything to eat I don’t know what you do eat. Breakfast toast yoghurt honey breads cereal & full cooked English. Lunch Greek salads fish, Evening pasta themed nights and grilled meats. Vegetarian and vegan & children’s options. There is a snack bar with fresh waffles snd a lunch beach outdoor dining. room: superior family with sea view - comfortable clean and well appointed for 2 could do with more wardrobe space for 3/4 with mini fridge. No kettle but hairdryer and tv - only eng channel bbc news. Daily maid service. entertainment: there are acts and singers every night - not my thing but others seem to enjoy it. Pool tables & air hockey €2 per play. Tennis & table tennis free as is the activity programme Recommendation: upgrade your room. There is an older & a newer block - I organised mine direct with the hotel €160 And wouldn’t have a penny back. Buy the towel pegs in the shop. Pool towels are included but are a little small - bring a bigger towel if you want it to cover even 1/2 the lounger. Downsides: no sparkling wine or hand made cocktail options . Lots of cocktails but all pre mixed. Wifi is ok ish but it could be better. Po Could do with being heated in October overall a really lovely family stay - covid safe with masks and gloves in the restaurant and reception

what can i say first time in greece. Hotel was meant to be all inclusive but not really limit on drinks, no water in room or fridge had to pay for water so bring a bottle so you can fill up at their machines, no kettle in standard room. i did say i email the hotel but they said we did not receive it even though i got an email back. The standard rooms are of poor quality absolutely disgusting if you are staying in a 4 star hotel srandard rooms should be of that quality at least. we had broken mattress, a dead bug splattered on wall and the oldest bathroom i have ever seen horrible. we did move next day to another standard room but had been renovated with walk in shower. we arrive to no power so had to carry out cases up 3 flights of stairs reception did say go and have a drink but when you have been travelling all day you just want to get to room but was very dangerous and surprised there no accidents also no offer of help. we then had no power for further 3 days. It wasnt everywhere it was just this hotel which i am talking to tui regarding all my complaints. Beer was very watered down, cocktails were like too sweet no taste of alcohol. Snack bar was the best during the day but all food is warm nothing hot. Tea coffee machine etc was good which opened down at beach bar from 8am because coffee at breakfast time was horrible so grateful for machine. All staff were very helpful you cannot fault them they tried very hard. The entertainment in daytime activities was poor not lively at all. Reception staff very good and tried to help where possible. i have been to afew all inclusive hotels but this is not the best the grounds are good but thats all. Rhodes town is nice you can get your bus ticket from shop in hotel 2 20 euro or taxi if ordered from hotel 13 euro or flag one down 10 euro they are always about flashing you if you want one. Walking to rhodes town takes 1 hour 10 mins. Also bus station rhodes town back hotel 2 10 euro. They do train ride around rhodes takes 45 mins 7 euro each which you pay for upon entering train which is outside cafe on harbour front where you can get open top bus. This is not 4 star quality also i got charged 3 star room tax which is correct.

i have just returned from a two week stay at this hotel yes i was there during the aftershock from the earthquake and the now infamous power cut in my opinion it was off for 12 hours then some brief ones the next day i was in the shop over the road when his went off so did affect other properties i always got a hot meal even when power was off so people saying only stale sandwiches are talking nonsense the staff in this hotel are some of the best and nicest people i have come across on all my holidays from waiting and bar through head chef catering manager to front desk not forgetting the sunbed guy who welcomed us every morning with a friendly good morning and a smile and the man who picked up other peoples litter every day yes room was a bit dated but this did not ruin my holiday if this hotel was to have a motto it should be it is nothing no problem because that was always the answer you got when asking any one to do something from chef Kostas making something different for my daughter to front desk staff printing locator forms and boarding passes nothing was ever a hassle i would go so far as to say some of the guest should take lessons on manners from the staff would i go back yes and would not hesitate to recommend so the power cuts were an nuisance but not the be all that some people made out you are on holiday enjoy it so thanks avra beach for a great holiday

Returned this week from a lovely 14 day holiday at Avra beach. The hotel and facilities are good the location very good and the staff are all excellent . We all enjoyed the food and I don't think I had the same dinner twice there was such a good selection and all the staff in the restaurant were all friendly and helpful. This was our first holiday where our daughter was old enough to drink so after a good try of the different cocktails we settled on the lovely pina coladas and my husband enjoyed the lager served by the very friendly bar staff who always remembered what we drank. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and all tables and surfaces were wiped over regularly. Finally yes we were there for the power cut caused by a storm and tremor then a power surge. It was dealt with as quickly as possible. We have about 2 power cuts a year in our village normally in the winter for reasons no one can fathom and it can take longer to fix than Avra beach ! . I missed one shower and too be honest if I hadn't started my make up when it came on so I could get to those pina coladas I wouldn't have missed any and I normally only shower every other day at home anyway ( I know how stinky ) . We still had 3 hot meals and drinks and we were very kindly given a glass of champagne and an apology with breakfast. Oh and as for the 2 sockets in the room why do you need more ? You're on holiday relax ! . So would I go back ? Most definitely thank you all at Avra beach .
