The hotel management here scammed us out of our booking funds and lied to our travel insurance by saying they would provide booking credit. If you are an international traveler you are not safe here at all. Experiences with other hotels on the island have been far more positive.
We stayed for a week in the two bedroom ( two bathroom) apartment ( two adults and two teenagers) and absolutely loved it! The location is stunning, our balcony looked straight out onto the caldera ( volcano), and it was amazing to sit there at different times of the day. We also had a hot tub on our balcony which was great to use after we’d been out walking and exploring. The apartments are down quite a few stairs from the main road ( I counted 91 steps just going down the main stairs) and quite steep, so these apartments wouldn’t be easily accessible for anyone with mobility issues, but we didn’t mind walking up/ down the steps to get to/ from the apartment as the view when we were there was well worth it! The staff in the apartments were great, very friendly and helpful . They arranged our private transfer from the airport for 38 euros total for four of us one way( which was much cheaper than the other quotes we had from transfer companies) and met our car when we arrived at Firastefani and carried our very heavy luggage down the stairs to our apartment when we arrived, which we really appreciated. Claudia on reception was very friendly and helpful and recommended three local restaurants to try - we ate at these and they were all lovely, among our favourites all week, especially Onar where we had dinner twice. There are quite a few different restaurants nearby and we preferred eating nearby in Firastefani rather than the other restaurants we tried in Fira and Oia. There are also a few mini-markets near the apartments to buy provisions. There are a few quirky things about the apartments that may be a minor annoyance to some people- the water heaters in the apartment need to be switched on for 25 mins before having a shower and the hot tub outside can’t be used from 9.30pm for three hours as it is in ‘cleaning’ mode. There are also no cooking facilities in the apartments. We ate out for meals so this was ok for us. Also, apartment had a huge ‘cave’ bathroom at the back which had a dehumidifier running a lot of the time as it seemed prone to dampness. Our apartment was spotlessly clean and was cleaned daily by a very friendly housekeeper. In fact the whole property and pool area were cleaned every day, for hours on end by the staff. We walked daily into Fira and it was only about 15 mins walk away, flat shoes are best for any walking around the local area as there are cobbled paths and lots of steps. We also walked the 10km walk to Oia from the path at the top of the apartment. We all enjoyed this ( even the two teenagers!) but it does take a few hours and take plenty of water with you. We would all thoroughly recommend these apartments…
This hotel and the staff (those we dealt with virtually) are very hostile and rude when communicating. While we had to cancel our reservation due to COVID-19, the staff refused to provide a refund for the stay, merely just a credit for use in the "near future". Stefanos then decided to send us a hostile email because I did not "thank them" for this act because he contacted the manager to "do us a favor" Long story short, I would recommend finding a better place to stay in the area while COVID is still a thing, because, even if you test positive and/or can't travel due to restrictions, Agnadema will not do right by you.
The people in Greece as always warm and welcoming. Not this hotel. Staff was rude to a point that it I could have simply skipped this part of my Greek holidays. I recommend staying in neighbouring hotels on this beautiful island.
The first thing that strikes you when you arrive is one of the best views in Santorini! These are apartments of various shapes and sizes and are reasonably comfortable. The air-con was fine as well as the small fridge. On a budget this is a great place to stay. The small pool has limited bed area so could be a problem but wasn’t for us. Most guests were out all day anyway. There are some steep steps from the apartments to the village where restaurants, fish and chip shops, and kebab shops are readily available.
