My husband and I stayed 2 nights in Santorini at Mills House and it was great. Once we arrived they upgraded our room to a suite with a jacuzzi and expanded patio. They also gave us champagne - the way to my heart :-) The views at this hotel were AMAZING, like unreal but it is Santorini and that's what it's known for. There are a lot of steps to get down to Mills House, like 100 but once you have gone down, it's worth it because of the views. The rooms were really large, with a living room, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. The shower was just a spout in the bathroom, no doors so it may it quite interesting to not get everything wet. They had free breakfast that you requested the night before, nothing fancy but quite filling. They arranged for cab service for us and restaurant recommendations of places that were open in the off season. Overall, I would love to go back in the summer but one drawback is the pool was pretty small. Overall great property.

We struggled deciding where to stay between Imerovigli, Firostefani and Fira, but 5 nights here in Firostefani was the right decision. The location of this hotel is prime, if you do not want to be in the rush of Fira, but not too far off as Imerovigli is. It is a 12-15 minute walk down to Fira and the shops/bars/restaurants, with many downhill steps to get there. Coming back is all uphill, so plan on walking a lot. Fira bars (about 4 of them) are open till 4AM if you want to stay out late. There are views everywhere and a great sunset view from this hotels' patio. A small pool is here and breakfast is served outside your room by the pool or on your patio. It is a hard boiled egg, breads, jams, cereal, greek yogurt, coffee, juice, tea. The cave rooms were neat and very large. Ours included a small kitchen and fridge which we never really used except the fridge. Wine was given upon arrival and the pool guy meets you at top when you get dropped off to carry your bags down the many steps (they bring them back up too, which is a godsend). We had a quad (ATV) rental (around 40-75 euro a day depending on size you choose) the whole time and parking is close at the nearby church or parking lot across the main street. We stayed two nights after in Oia as that is a must to spend time there too (the most beautiful spot on the island, but little to no nightlife). Chrissy at the front desk was helpful and arranged a car for us for the final two days to Oia with drop off at the airport. It was about the same cost as a couple taxi rides so was worth it. It was 30-40 euros a day for the car. So overall, this hotel was a great choice, although there are many nice looking hotels nearby too. I doubt you could go wrong with any of them. The price was right for this one though, so with the location and value it turned out to be a great choice. By the way there are some restaurants near the hotel, and a market and a bakery so you do not always have to walk down to Fira.

Where do I start with this gorgeous boutique hotel. Nestled amongst many other properties in Firostefani, the Mill Houses Elegant Suites has the most spectacular views of the caldera and sunset. Our suite was beautifully furnished and outside we had a hot tub, sunbathing terrace and separate dining terrace.

They always say that a hotel is made by the staff and they are absolutely exceptional here. Nothing too much trouble, unfailingly polite, eager to help and organise, always attending to the upkeep of the property. We all felt that we had hit the jackpot staying here. I can’t recommend highly enough.

This hotel has some things going for it, mainly the spectacular views over the caldera. But I suspect the 5 star reviews are from guests who stayed in the rooms by the pool or just above it. We were walked up over 100 stairs away from the main hotel, down the street then up some different stairs, and there we were shown our room. It was outdated and not like the beautiful modern, light-filled ones shown on the website. They have 3 completely separate rooms away from the main hotel (rooms 111 - 113), which don't have their own outdoor space, you share a long patio area with the other 2 rooms, and the view from there is partially blocked by the roofs below. The bathroom was dingy and there was a tiny shower with a plastic curtain which stuck to you as you showered. The air conditioning sounded like a jet engine about to take off. Every time you wanted to go to the pool or reception, or to breakfast, you had to climb down the hundreds of stairs and back up again, so being poolside was not a particularly relaxing experience. The pool is very small and there are only 4 sunbeds so you are lucky if you get one. This hotel was booked as part of a package so am not too sure of price per night but if the Internet is to be believed, it was way way overpriced at over €300 per night. On the plus side, the staff are just wonderful, especially Angelina and Pilot who never stop smiling and help you with everything so graciously. Breakfast is fine, some basic options which you select from a checklist, but you can have as much as you want. Could be better for a 4 star hotel. The small town the hotel is in is quite nice with a few restaurants and it's about 15 minutes walk to the start of the main town Thira. Take comfortable shoes, it's very cobbled. We felt a bit swindled and advise other guests to check which room they'll be in before booking.

I have only 1 good thing to say about this accommodation. The view. We were there at the start of the lockdown for the caronovirus and got no help whatsoever. We were completely ignored. Given absolutely no information and definitely no help. All restaurants were closed down by the government so we only had the cold buffet breakfast that the hotel provided to eat. Takeaways are too far away and it's too cold on march to eat outside.
The breakfast that we did get is repetitive and cheap. Raw eggs served one morning. Rotten apple another. The pool was filthy, the rooms are tiny grubby and cramped. Nowhere to put anything down. No drawers, no hooks. There is absolutely no privacy anywhere, people walking past your window to get to their room. I would not reccomend spending your money here.

This is a small hotel with friendly, helpful staff . The rooms have a “cave” design, cozy on cool days and cool on hot days. There are several shared patios, room for all guests to find a good view. Also patio table for each room. Wonderful, would stay there again

We were reallocated to these suites as our original hotel was not able to open during the current health situation. The suites are spacious, cave houses. Right outside we had a table and chairs to the views of beautiful Santorini. There was a nice pool as well to enjoy and relax. We were able to walk the paths to Fira and Imerovigli and every angle, every turn, every step was a picture perfect moment. The staff was helpful without being imposing. We enjoyed getting info from them as they are locals and gave us terrific recommendations.

This was the perfect hotel location for my wife and I celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary. The hotel staff are all equally amazing and so very friendly and welcoming. When we checked in the manager was so nice and happy that they upgraded our room for us to a suite, this was very special to us.
This hotel is very clean and in a safe walkable area to many great restaurants, bars and grocery stores. The included breakfast, which is delivered to your patio, is great and you can also order Freddo Espresso and also additional items.

Our room was very spacious and clean. The kitchenette had a mini fridge and our private hot tub was perfect for relaxing at night.

Also a key note…enjoy your wine at this property’s balcony along with the perfect sunset. Great location!

There are about 100 stairs to get down to the property however don’t let this scare you away from staying here, this is not a problem and exercise is good for you. The staff here carry your bags down/up which is also a bonus while checking in or out…these guys are awesome!!

Our favourite restaurants nearby were not on the Caldera, we found the freshest and best priced meals more inland (find my reviews at Rare Greek Restaurant and Taverna Simos…both very excellent and delicious). I recommend eating at inland spots like this and then go for drinks at the bars overlooking the Caldera or vice versa or both!! You can’t go wrong.

We stayed at the Mill Houses August 2022, and it was just perfect. We booked through hotels.com and booked a junior suite. When we arrived, we were showed our room, but it was on the same level as the pool, and didn't have a private balcony like I expected (Room 104). When I told the front desk, they quickly changed our reservations, and put us in the Mill Houses Suite for our first night (room 101-just INCREDIBLE), and upgraded our room to a suite (room 109-such a perfect balcony) for the rest of our stay.
The rooms are very similar to what is on their website so don't worry about hearing anything different. Service and front desk were so helpful as we booked our ATVs and boat cruise with them.
Breakfast prepared and ready on your balcony was such a treat every morning, especially when you can enjoy the view of the aegean sea and the caldera.

Warning: There are LOTS of stairs to get up and down to the main street from the hotel. Definitely had to psych ourselves up to get ready for the trek every day. But, if it meant sitting at the small pool and overlooking the incredible view, it was worth every step.

This is a beautiful hotel and you are well taken care of. I highly recommend staying here!

I visited with my daughter to the amazing Mill house suites.
Location & staff were all outstanding….
Most amazing views & sunsets.
Chrissy was a first class host. Nothing was to much . Booked us amazing restaurants and boat trips. And had a smile on her face every min of the day.
Breakfast was served outside our room every morning by our lovely pool man, again who was always so helpful.
Located on the side of the mountain with the most amazing views.
I can highly recommend these suites
See you next year ❤️

The Mill Suite has its own two-person hot tub. I don't recall seeing any other. As for things to see, the staff set us up with an all-day bus tour that visits the ruins of prehistoric Thira (worth seeing), takes you to a few other great sights for photographs and some local history, stops by the Santos Winery (samples included), and then up to Oia to tour the town (there are a number of interesting shops) and watch the sunset. We also took a boat trip to the volcano. It was a bit of a hike, but was interesting to see, although don't expect a caldera with lava, it is more like a deep hole with a few plumes of smoke coming out, but the rock formations were interesting to see.
