Beautiful room with a sea view and private loungers, fantastic food and attentive bar staff who looked after us very well. The hotel is quiet, most guests only stay a couple of days before moving on. The location is perfect for exploring Fira, Imerovigli (both walking distance) and a 20 min taxi ride to Oia (€40 in a taxi). Be prepared for lots of steps between the hotel reception, room and pool!

Hotel is definitely not 5 star, all down to the small details that would really set it apart - only two small bottles of water provided on arrival, Nespresso coffee cups get replaced with cheaper alternative when you use the 4 provided on arrival, room cleaning service is sporadic at best, shower gel and shampoo basic and not always topped up, floors not cleaned, towels were changed 3x in the week, bedding wasn’t changed once, sun loungers by the pool are tired with ripped covers, pool is cleaned daily but the stain from sun creams never disappeared, only one toilet by the pool which also has a basic shower that’s used for any guests that are leaving, it’s not cleaned between guests using it, has no hair dryer or towels so you have to take the towel from the pool. These are all relatively small things that could be easily changed, when guests pay £650+ per room per night it’s not unreasonable to expect a great attention to detail.

Prices of drinks and food are in line with what you pay elsewhere in Santorini - cocktails €20, glass of local wine €8, local beer €8, large water €8, salads €18, burger €20, fish/meat/pasta around €40.

From the moment you check in to the moment you leave this small boutique and newly refurbished hotel will make you feel totally relaxed and at home. We were lucky enough to to enjoy a Honeymoon suite with indoor hot tub. The room is pretty spacious and built into the side of the cliff so has a feeling that you are in your own little cave. It has a huge comfy bed to ensure a good nights sleep with luxury bedding and towels that are changed everyday if you want. We loved the Molton Brown in the rooms as well and the use of the Nespresso coffee machine. The views are overlooking the caldera and quite simply are breathtaking. In fact I would say that these views are some of the best on the island. The sunsets are wonderful too, you cannot get bored of this view !

Liz is an amazing host and nothing is too much trouble, she will organise your stay before you arrive, help with days out and anything you need whilst you are there and even help you with your onward destination if that isn’t home ! We were travelling onto Athens and Liz was most helpful in making some suggestions about what we could do in the city.

The breakfast is pretty special too with local and imported sumptuous ingredients. The coffee that Nicos made us each morning was truly amazing and we had to have two just to make sure !!! The orange juice is so fresh, he literally carried oranges with leaves still attached and hand pressed it for us (no out of carton sorts here!)

The staff, food, coffee, location, uniqueness is wonderful and this is simply one of the best 5 star hotels on the island. We will be back !!!!

Sun Rocks hotel is everything we could have asked for in a hotel !!! We stayed in the Superior Deluxe suite and it was basically a private cave carved into the side of the cliff to call home during our vacation in Santorini. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. We were thankful that it is about a 10-15 minute walk from downtown Fira where all the nightlife/action is. We enjoyed being able to come home at night and relax in peace and quiet. Nico at the restaurant was extremely accommodating, they don’t normally have vegan options but they made an amazing spread of fruits, breads, jams, salad, avocado toast and drinks with plant-based milk every morning for our breakfast. We enjoyed the coffees and mimosas there too, along with the view of the beautiful sea! Liz the manager and other concierge person Efthimis were extremely accommodating. They helped us book a yacht tour (HIGHLY RECOMMEND), dinner reservations, car transfers, and even our ferry to the next island (whoops we probably should have done this in advance!! But we got lucky and Liz was able to figure out a few different ferries to make it work for us last-minute!!). The entire staff is extremely friendly and definitely provides that exceptional level of Greek Hospitality!! 🇬🇷 We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend 10/10 to anyone looking for a personable, quiet, private accommodations with friendly staff!

Walked in and booked this place as was disappointed with my other accommodation we had booked.when i got reception Thanasis could not be more helpful. . He rang his reservations got a few prices , showed me the rooms and once i decided explained everything about the place and organized a boat tour through Santorini sailing and arranged other transport we needed. When staying at the hotel we ate at the restaurant which was grest and the staff from the restaurant, to housekeeping and the guys who carried our luggage up over 100 steps were all friendly and fantastic. I could go on for ages about the pool, the view, the rooms , our hottub. Sun rock just made a bad start to our Santorini experience become one of our best experiences so far on this holiday. When checking out Efthymis was also just a pleasure to deal with .

I had an absolutely unforgettable experience at Sun Rocks Boutique Hotel. My boyfriend treated me to a trip to Santorini for my birthday. Sun Rocks is located in Firastefani, just a short walking distance from Fira. It is in close proximity to many great restaurants, a market and many small boutiques/places to shop. Its proximity to so much makes it a prime location. We were able to walk mostly everywhere except for a few locations that we were easily able to arrange for transport to.

The hotel itself: We stayed in the Experience Suite which had absolutely stunning views of one of the top 10 rated sunsets in the world! Our room allowed for a wonderful experience, hence why it's called the Experience Suite! The hotel has an amazing restaurant. Breakfast is included, but lunch and dinner are paid separately. The restaurant/bar is located next to the pool which also has some sun beds to allow to experience the views of the Caldera. One thing I will mention is the stairs. Since the hotel just like all the hotels in the area are on the cliff, there are no elevators. Be prepared to climb up and down appropriately 200 steps multiple times during the day. If you are someone with significant health issues that affect your ability to walk or climb stairs, this may not be a great option for you. Fortunately, I felt like I was able to burn off all the calories I ate from all the amazing food!

The service: The staff here at Sun Rocks Hotel is nothing short of exceptional. Every person we encountered from the moment we arrived to the moment that we left was above and beyond. They were all so accommodating and helpful, especially when it came to arranging taxis for us going to farther locations outside the hotel including restaurants and the port. I want to highlight Dora at the hotel's restaurant Aquaz. She was personable, friendly and a kind/genuine soul. She was a beautiful person inside and out and really made our dining experience everything! I also want to highlight the young gentleman who worked reception from the afternoon to early evening shift. He went out of his way to help my boyfriend arrange a birthday surprise, including delivery of a cake from a local bakery which was absolutely delicious!!! Everyone really took care of us.

All in all, I highly recommend this hotel for any couple staying in Santorini. You will not be disappointed!

We stayed in the Sun Rocks Suite for 9 nights in September 2021. The hotel is beautiful, fully renovated this year, and enjoys incredible views of the Caldera and sunset. The staff were excellent; friendly, attentive and accommodating but never overbearing. The location is perfect, Firastefani is on your doorstep with Imerovigli and Fira just a 10 min walk north and south respectively . Oia is further north, approx 20 mins by taxi/bus. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Sun Rocks, a five star experience in a beautiful setting. Many thanks to Liz and all the team.

Room Tip: It is preferable to choose rooms above the pool , because in Caldera there are a lot of stairs.

Located within 15 minutes walk of Fira Centre, this hotel is in a stunning location cascading down the cliff side overlooking the sea and the Caldera. We had a large bedroom with an incredible panoramic sea view to greet us every morning. Facilities were all good, except storage space a bit limited. There is a lovely pool area with bar and restaurant. Again, this has jaw dropping sea views. The breakfasts and lunches were excellent with fresh Greek cuisine, although pretty generous portions. However, what makes this place are its incredible staff who are all just so lovely and friendly. They can’t do enough for you, but highly professional always with a laugh and a smile. One felt very special staying here. One note of caution though is that access throughout is via flights of quite steep steps, with no elevator, so one needs to be relatively able. There was no better place to be based for our 4 nights in Santorini. To be highly recommended.

We absolutely LOVED our week at Sun Rocks! The views are stunning over the Caldera, the room and whole venue was gorgeous, very exclusive and sophisticated, exactly what you hope for! The food was amazing too - we had the bed and breakfast option which was lovely. Great selection of everything you could ask for, excellent quality and service, and so special to be sitting overlooking the best views Santorini has to offer, listening to chilled music! We opted not to go half board thinking the variety and cost of eating out would be better - in hindsight, the half board option is much better! Whilst there’s lots and lots of options within minutes walk, eating out in Fira can be pricey and nowhere was as good as Sun Rocks restaurant. All that said, what really made our stay special was all the lovely staff, Nikos and everyone who looked after us, they all take real pride in their work and go above and beyond to make your time at Sun Rocks special - big thanks from Rachel & Jason x

For the Aquaz restaurant- I don’t even know where to start with this review besides saying it was simply the best restaurant I have ever dined at with the best experience. I have traveled the world and stayed at some of the most impressive hotels with some of the best restaurants out there and this one takes the top spot for every aspect. We had hoped to sit outside when dining at this restaurant, as they have the most stunning tables beside a glass barrier with amazing views. However it was raining and majorly windy the day we dined but was not disappointed with the beautiful front table we were given inside. incredible views of the sunset and surrounding buildings. The service we received at this restaurant was five stars, beyond incredible, really made the experience spectacular. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco to share between me and my boyfriend, it was reasonably priced and one of the nicest Proseccos we have ever tasted. My boyfriend has a nut allergy, we have struggled with being able to check if foods are safe everywhere on this island however when ordering here, this was the first restaurant we were asked if there was any allergies to take note of . This made him so much more comfortable eating there as he felt they truly cared about giving him the correct food! We ordered a selection of bread to start with and they kindly adapted it to be safe for his allergy. It was the perfect starter for us! We then both ordered T bone steaks (medium) and it was cooked to perfection, the taste of the steak was phenomenal. We both ordered a side of fried potato wedges which were seasoned lovely and tried both the sauce options on the menu which paired brilliantly with the steaks. For dessert we both ordered the apple pie which they again kindly adapted to fit the nut allergy and it was the best desert we had the whole holiday! We were there celebrating my 21st birthday and when dessert came out they put a lit candle and sang happy birthday which made the night so special. The meal was honestly one of the best meals we have ever had and would recommend it to anyone. Please try this restaurant out you will not be disappointed! The service was impeccable from both Evoingelio and Asteris, they truly went above and beyond to make the experience the best, we would like to thank you for the great service and meal guys! On our return to Santorini we will definitely be back to visit again! You made my birthday the most special and memorable one!
