We have just returned from a week at the Santorini Palace, staying the last week of September.

We had originally set our sights on staying in Oia, but most hotels were out of our price range, so we decided upon the Santorini Palace in Firostefani instead. We ended up being very pleased with our choice, and having visited busy Oia, felt Firostefani was more suited to us anyway.

We booked at short notice and had no choice of room, so we’re expecting the basic double without a view. Our room was very clean, with a white modern feel, comfy bed and nice bathroom with a good shower. There was a safe and fridge, with two small bottles of water left for our arrival. The only slight negative for the room was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities, we had read this in a review so brought a travel kettle with us.

Breakfast was included in our stay. We ate outside on the veranda, which had a lovely view. There were many options for breakfast, with fruit, cereals, yogurt, eggs, sausage, bacon, cheese, croissants. Everything looked fresh and plentiful.

The pool area was really nice; lots of loungers in varying shapes and sizes, double and single loungers, some with comfy thick cushions. Plenty of umbrellas, almost one per every two beds. The pool was large, but very cold, although I was ok once I was brave enough to submerge my shoulders! The pool side bar sells drinks and lunches, everything we had there was really nice and reasonably priced. The Greek salad and mango daiquiri were my favourites.

I don’t think you’d see the sunset from any of the rooms. But it could be seen from just outside the hotel on the ridge on the other side of the car park.

All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful; reception, cleaners, bar staff, waiters. Everyone seemed happy and always greeted you with a smile.

The location was perfect for us. Once on the main path on the cliff side, if you turn right you’ll be on top of the restaurants in Firostefani, we particularly liked Remvi and Mama Thira. And if you turn left and follow the path, you’ll be in Fira in about 20 mins. There is bus station from Fira that goes to Oia, which was 1.60 euros per person each way. The bus went very frequently and was easy to use, but was busy. It also went to Kamari, although we didn’t have time to go there.

On our last day there was a shower in the ladies and mens bathroom on the second floor. There might have been others, but we noticed this one as our room had been on this floor. This was very handy for having a quick shower before leaving, as check out was 11:30 and we were picked up for our flight home at 17:30.

All in all we were very pleased with our stay at this very pleasant hotel. I would definitely recommend it and would happily return.

My partner and I stayed in Santorini Palace for 7 nights and we were very pleasantly surprised. This was a last minute booking after an unexpected cancellation meant that we were without accommodation only days before we were due to travel. We managed to get a very good deal of only £1100 for the trip, much less than paid previously! What a fantastic location! With the beautiful Firastefani town a few steps away, Imerovigli only a 15 minute walk and being on the Fira- Oia hike trail, it was perfect for a romantic getaway exploring the island. The hotel was lovely, light and airy and the rooms were a fantastic size with a modern finish. We particularly liked the bathroom, as it a very 'cave-like' Santorini style bathroom, which was a nice traditional touch. We opted for a daily clean, and the room was always left beautifully. I believe that because of Covid, there were no amenities in the room (i.e. tea and coffee making facilities and nothing in the fridge except for the two bottles of water on arrival), but this was fine for us as we just used the fridge for the water that we bought in the local shop. The breakfast was good, with a selection of both cooked and continental options. The only thing I would have liked more of was fresh fruit and fresh fruit juices.

What made this hotel particularly special was the service. All of the staff on the front desk went above and beyond for our every need and made sure that our happiness was at the forefront of their daily agenda. We couldn't be more thankful as we had an amazing trip and it was all the better because of their help.

We would definitely stay again!

Stayed for a week. Just a few minutes from firostefani and we had lunch there a few times but about 14 minutes walk down hill gets you to Fira which has a lot more on offer. The walk is steep, uneven with lots of steps but we were ok with that.
Rooms - there is a simple structure here, standard or superior (extra cost), to get a good view you need to pay the extra for the superior, if you go standard it’s luck of the draw. Room very clean although felt cold and damp as did our things but it was spotless.
Breakfast - poor with the same options daily and a lack of fresh fruit, just watermelon, chopped apple and a few grapes, cutlery is not clean and often has food remains and the room lacks ambience. Beware if you get up to get anything else anything on the table will be whipped away finished or not.
Sunbeds - people get up early and reserve despite a sign saying not permitted, the hotel seem to allow this however if you later leave to pop out for lunch they will remove your towels. Peace is also disturbed about 3:30pm when they come round and loudly start tidying the sunbeds and putting umbrellas down, making you feel unwelcome. The pool is freezing. Staff other than housekeeping are not friendly. We were declined a late checkout.
I wouldn’t return here.
Suggestions:
All sunbeds to have cushions maybe this would eliminate the reservations
Overhaul of breakfast
Friendlier

On a positive our maid was fantastic, an absolute credit to the hotel and worked super hard.

Santorini Palace is a welcoming, clean and comfortable hotel. The staff are great and extremely hardworking. The hotel is extremely clean and the rooms are cleaned daily with fresh clean towels everyday. The rooms are modern, with a flat screen tv, mini fridge and a hairdryer. The pillows are a bit flat and uncomfortable but there are extras kept in the wardrobe. We had a small outside area as well. The pool bar serves drinks and food which is reasonably priced and often cheaper than other bars/restaurants in the area. The only complaint about the bar was that they didn’t sell lollies, crisps and things like that. The pool area is lovely and an ideal area to catch the sun, however, they need more sun beds as people always got up early and put their towels on the beds to reserve them. Personally I don’t think that this should be allowed even though there are notices up to inform holiday makers that they can’t reserve beds; a rule that isn’t followed. There is a bar in reception which was never open. This hotel is worth the four stars and ideal for couples/adults but not a place for children as there just isn’t anything there for them but Santorini isn’t a place for children just because again there isn’t much there for them. The hotel breakfast provides for everyone and you will always find something to eat, croissants is to die for! The outside eating area is lovely, sitting in the sun or shade with a beautiful scenic view, what more can you ask for! We had a late flight back and we were able to book another room for 120 euros, yes expensive but worth it. We went on excursions but don’t book through your travel agent or the hotel as it is cheaper to go to vendors in firostefani.
Would we go back to this hotel…….definitely yes!!!!!

I really enjoyed our stay at the Santorini Palace. The location is fantastic. It is a 3-5 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants. The hotel is clean and modern. The rooms are large and well decorated. I loved the pool with its poolside bar. The atmosphere is low key and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also have a great breakfast buffet.

There were only two things that weren’t quite ideal. With the large rooms and the air turning off when you leave, the room never felt especially cool. (Tip, the air won’t run unless the patio doors are shut) The second is only a problem if your room is under the pool deck (ours was). People dragging the patio furniture around is pretty loud. That being said, I’d happily stay there again.

This hotel is pretty much at the top of the hill but one layer in. As such, the views aren't great. If you aren't in great shape, you won't enjoy the hike up the steep driveway or the walk up the cliff walk hill. The room was average at best without some of the basics. The stairs in the hotel were marble and slippery, noise outside the room echoed. The pool bar staff was not the friendliest and didn't take credit cards so you had to pay cash or charge to your room. Pool towels found at the front desk, 4 flights of stairs up from the pool. It was the weakest of all the hotels we stayed at in Greece.

Firstly I need to say we travelled with Tui, and I wish we had got a private transfer as the taxi goes right outside the hotel, the coach however doesn't, it drops you off at the bottom of a long cobbled hill which isn't good when the weather's scorching and you have to drag your cases up to the hotel. The hotel itself is lovely.
Our room was lovely we had a partial sea view the bed was comfy, my only problem was instead of a TV above the dressing table a mirror would have been better, the bathroom mirror is to dark..and the full length mirror doesn't have the best lighting. Was able to sleep with the balcony doors open only saw 2 mosquitoes in the room the full 2 weeks.
Maid service was fantastic, clean towels every day.
Breakfast was good..bacon, eggs, sausages, pastries, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fruit, cereal something for everyone.
Loved the pool, water freezing but once in its lovely, plenty of sunbeds never had a problem at anytime of day getting one.
Pool bar ok through the day not sure why it opens at night till 10pm because noone seems to go.
There is a bar in the hotel lobby but they don't use it, it would have been nice to call for a night cap before heading straight to bed, it's a shame.
Reception staff are friendly and smile as are the maids, but breakfast staff don't even crack a smile.
The hotel seems to be in the perfect location, beautiful views, I just wish I had chosen kamira or perissa as I missed the beach and these two places were as beautiful, I think 2 weeks in fira is a bit to much, but staying at Santorini palace everything is on your Doorstep just no beach, and be careful on the cobbled streets in fira Square I twisted my foot and was limping around for part of my holiday, even though I wore flats. Definitely take flat shoes, the streets are not very good to walk on in heels.

Overall we were very happy with this hotel, we stayed here for a week after getting married in Santorini.

The Santorini Palace is in a great location, and within east walking distance to Thira. The coastal path is absolutely beautiful and there are many lovely restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.

We paid to upgrade our room, from a standard room to one of the new rooms at Santorini Palace which included a small private pool on the terrace. The standard room was fine, and very clean, but we felt a little underwhelmed and wanted to celebrate, following our wedding. The hotel manager and reception staff were very helpful with accommodating this.

We were overly keen on the pool area at the Santorini Palace, its quite a small pool for the size of the hotel and the sun beds are very close together and it feels a bit crowded. We didn’t see many spare sun beds during the day. With the upgraded room, you also get access to a rooftop pool which is much nicer, however doesn’t have easy access to the pool bar. The rooftop pool has a beautiful view and is completed to a very high standard. I would say it is definitely worth the extra money to pay for an upgrade.

We found the reception staff very friendly and helpful throughout our time at Santorini Palace. The pool bar staff are professional but not overly friendly. However, we didn’t find the staff at breakfast very helpful at all unfortunately and only chose to have breakfast at the hotel once.

Overall this is a really lovely hotel, during our first week we stayed at Aqua Blue in Perissa (they are part of the same group as Santorini Palace) which was much more suited to us. We found it a bit busy staying so close to Thira and much preferred being close to the beach and travelling into Thira to explore. If you love to be close to the famous sights, this is definitely the hotel for you!

Just returned from our 2nd visit to this amazing hotel and it didn’t let us down.
The hotel is set inbetween Fira and imerovigli in a lovely village called Firostefani. You can access both areas easily with 10 minute walks each way. The hotels communal areas were clean, our room was spotless, the staff were informative and very helpful. The pool was lovely and big (a rare find in this area of Santorini) there were always enough sunbeds and the pool bar sold food and drink at reasonable prices. I cannot fault this hotel in any way and we shall return next year.

Reception area nice and the staff were very helpful. We were not happy with our first room it smelt terrible of damp especially in the wardrobe. We moved to a different room on our second day paid an extra 30 euros per day. This room I could not fault and the view over the pool and sea was beautiful. The breakfast is just ok. Pool area very clean and the sun beds are very comfortable but you so have to get down there early as people do reserve them from 6am! The staff in the pool bar work very hard and we’re very pleasant and helpful. The pool water was quite cold. The location of this hotel is excellent walking distance to all of the lovely shops and restaurants. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A mixture - on the bay front it’s a bit pricier but not outrageous. On the other side of the hotel are some great cheap tavernas which are also more authentic
