What an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the view was beautiful. We also appreciated staying in Firostefani, which is a bit more low-key than other places around the caldera. Would definitely recommend.

Ikastikies with its breathtaking views on the caldera is an peaceful and relaxing oasis. However, once leaving the property, you will find yourself in the middle of Firostefani with a wide choice of cafes, restaurants and shopping. After a 10-15 min scenic walk, you will even reach the capital Fira with all its opportunities. The cave suite itself (we stayed at Rosaki, which is just perfect for 2 people) is tastefully furnished and has a nice and cosy atmosphere. You will have breathtaking views on the caldera from your private balcony or from a nice sitting area at the pool. The sunset from there is amazing! The freshly prepared breakfast is individually served at place and time of your choice. Special thanks to Giorgos and his team for the exceptional friendliness and hospitality as well as the very personal service. Restaurant booking, rental car, individual tour recommendations - we felt perfectly supported! To sum it up: in any respect Ikastikies is one of the most beautiful and best places we have ever stayed.

There are several reasons to stay here. The first being the service. I cannot stress enough how gratuitous and accommodating the owner is. A true gentleman that cares about your experience. The second reason would be the absolutely stunning view of the caldera/ocean. All I can say is WOW!!! It’s breath taking. This is a true boutique hotel with very few rooms, private patio and pool, exclusive to the room. The hotel is carved into and built from the side of the mountain. The room(s) are good size and spacious. It’s an older hotel but well maintained. The master room does not have air conditioning; however this really isn’t an issue as long as the a/c in the main area is on you get some cool air-flow into the room. The 2nd room in the back is very cool as it’s recessed in in the back and open the main area. The breakfast is very good and they provide plenty of food. The hotel is central to just about all of Fira (aka Thira) and is 10 min walk to just about any fantastic restaurant you want to eat at. Finally, the sunsets spoken of in Oia are not necessary. This hotel has an amazing view of the sunset! We will miss this place and look forward to returning some day.

We spent 5 days at Ikastikies. Georgios was the Perfect Host. His hospitality and kindness are unparalleled, attending to each and all of our questions and needs. He provided an overboarding breakfast. The place has the best caldera view, it is quiet yet still close to everything. Just an impressive and unforgettable stay. Thank you, again!

I can not say enough good things about it! George, the owner - was the best! Instantly made us feel right at home. The rooms were in pristine condition. We spent a good bit of our time out on the patio, just watching the ocean and sky. The view from our place was amazing. We were lucky enough to get to see two beautiful sunsets, right from our suites. No need to travel to Oia when you can see a famous Santorini sunset from the patio in front of your room. We even were treated to breakfast in our room, and they coordinated with our schedule for the day to ensure we could eat before we left. George was friendly, caring, gracious, treated us like family - I can not say enough about our experience, except thank you George for making our time in Santorini amazing!
