Sir Basil and the lovely Vivienne invited us to join them at the Chateau for Supper. A lovely setting in a delightful town exuding an ambiance which foretold of a great evening of gastronomy ahead. Excellent cocktails and Patti even had juniper berries in her G&T. Dining areas were intimate and luxurious and the food superb-an amuse bouche to die...

Visited with my son and his girlfriend. The hotel itself is in an ideal location in the very picturesque make town of Montreuil. The room was fantastic, almost worth the trip on its own.The dinner was good but overpriced and the head waiter a little officious and overbearing, but overall the 2 night stay was very good, but there are other hotels in the...

We stayed two nights in Room 4, a very comfortable and well lit room on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the garden. The bathroom has both a bath and a walk in shower. The hotel is quietly located near the Citadel and has a beautiful garden which greatly adds to the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is...

Stayed during December when the hotel was relatively empty. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and afforded a good night's sleep. The only issue we had was that, although it was cold outside, we felt the room was somewhat overheated and there was no visible means of turning down the heating level. The main reception room at the hotel...

This is really a top of the range hotel. Our room was lovely - spacious and comfortable - and the bathroom with bath and a wet room was brilliant. We also had good views over the elegant garden. The staff were there whenever we needed them, welcoming us in, waiting for us as we came down for dinner but not...

We popped across to France for the day and booked to stay at the Chateau. The room was lovely and the staff very friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. Breakfast the next day, although charged extra, was substantial and really nice. More than a typical French breakfast. When we left as our car was parked in...

We last stayed here 20 years ago with newborn twins so remember it with much fondness. The Chateau has retained all its charm and if anything, the food is even better. Discretely set behind high walls and surrounded by lush gardens you feel as if you are entering a different world as you pass through the gates. The gardens were...

We were staying in the town for a couple of nights as we were collecting wine from the wine society in the town and had seen the Chateau reviews on this site. We went for a Saturday lunchtime menu and all I can save all four of us were in awe of the experience, none of us are strangers to...

We arrived with two friends to celebrate my birthday with an overnight stay following a superb summer lunch for a larger group of classic car enthusiasts. We had two very comfortable rooms in the main house overlooking the gardens and ramparts. The two large Liriodendron trees - probably planted by the Rothschilds - were just turning a buttery yellow and...

It is many years since we stayed here ( over 20) and we had forgotten just how good a place in which to relax the Montreuil Chateau is. The food was perfect at breakfast and dinner. Deserving of its long held Michelin star and much less fussy than another similarly starred restaurant in the town has become. Staff couldn't have...
