Le Vieux Logis is a charming auberge with gorgeously beautiful and breathtakingly charming gardens, located in the sleepy little village of Tremolat, France near the Cingle de la Dordogne River. While the village of Tremolat is not particularly remarkable, this auberge has a "tres bonne table," indeed, one of the best dinning experiences of our entire 1 month stay in...

I stayed here only one night on a hiking trip in the area. Next time, I'll make this my base! Service, accomodations, and setting were lovely. Dinner was a highlight-I'm a vegan, which is a challenge iin the Dordogne region (home of foie gras!), but the chef outdid himself. All in all, a wonderful experience!

My wife and I stayed in a suite at Le Vieux Logis as part of a Backroads bike trip on Aug 25-26. It was clean, charming and quiet (except for the doves that decided to wake us up around 7:00am one morning). The hotel is quaint and the suite itself evoked a feel of staying in someone’s home rather than...

My sister and I stayed for one night only in this beautiful hotel at the beginning of a week-long bike trip. We loved the whole experience: the room, the gardens, the service and the food. It is beautiful. If anyone should ever suggest this as a destination...a little respite-- perhaps, say "Yes" immediately. It is lovely.

As part of our trip in the Perigord noir, we spent three nights at the Vieux Logis. The Property is located in the charming village of Tremolat. It is very well integrated in the village. One doesn't feel completely secluded and separated from the surrounding environment. To the contrary, it's is difficult to say where the village stops and the...

The restaurant is marvellous .... in all respects. You might have difficulties to find a better one. The hotel on the other hand is a nice old building, well cleaned and charmingly equipped, but our room was very small. Further, there was a permanent awkward smell in the lobby and some rooms, like old burned wood. The pool is fine,...

We are used to travelling throughout Europe and stay in many top class hotels for business and leisure, including many different Relais & Chateaux members, but clearly Le Vieux Logis goes this little extra mile further than the others...Their definition of service is simply unique, just as is their understanding of customer satisfaction, their way of never saying no, the...

At 8am on July 17th, 2013, there began scraping of the exterior walls, moving around clanging ladders, and looking into the room windows, bathroom included. I brought this to the attention of the receptionist at 8:15am, letting them know that that kind of work at the hour was inappropriate, but they said it was just their gardeners scrapping ivy off...

A TREMBLING BEAUTY: The charm of Trémolat’s LE VIEUX LOGIS The rolling French countryside around the Dordogne River is a charming, rural haven – easily accessed from the hubs of Bergerac and Perigueux. Enjoying idyllic time-travel, one meanders through medieval villages, past ancient, stone churches, and through picture book countryside. There are overhanging trees, sparkling rivulets and crescent shaped rivers....

We stayed outside the lovely village of Tremolat on the cingle of the Dordogne recently. One Sunday we had lunch at the Vieux Logis, it was a wonderful meal from start to finish, the creme brulee with foie gras was a real hit with me. The whole experience the meal, the hotel which oozed of class inside and the garden...
