I shared a lovely private room with a travel friend and it was so nice to be in a good place for a change. The rooms are great, the place is nice and quiet and it's generally just a good place to stay

Best hostel ever! So clean, so friendly, made you feel right at home. Dorms are lovely and they are air conned (v.rare in Santa Teresa). Tree house private rooms are stunning. 2mins away from beach. Beautiful! Morning yoga classes in treehouse! Incredible.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Don Jon's for a week in April. I didn't quite know what to expect because it was my first time traveling out of America, but I was blown away by the hospitality and comfort I had experienced. The moment we arrived, we were meeting a few friends, Jon showed...

I'm not sure if I have enough space to tell you how truly wonderful Don Jon ,his staff and this place really is. My husband and I decided to have a destination wedding and we planned it here. I'd never been before but I knew it was going to be special. Jon put us up in the apartments which was...

Don Jons is such an amazing place! I showed up there originally near the end of my travels planning to just stop through Santa Teresa for a night or two and ended up skipping my flight home and staying for almost 3 weeks! the hostel brings people together forming amazing communities that really feel like family! Great for solo travelers,...

This place is AMAZING - after months of travelling this is easily my favourite place I've stayed, it's not like a regular hostel it's like a real friendly atmosphere, everyone is hanging out all together, you're always more than welcome to join group dinners to the soda next door or cooking in the outdoor kitchen, and everyone is always welcome...

We stayed there 5 nights and we absolutely loved it. The staf is so nice and helpful. They really treated us like family. It's a 3min walk to the beach (amazing beach) and they have some dogs and cats who welcome you. We took yoga classes and loved it (for just 5usd!!) the rooms are nice - the only bad...

This hostel has the worst vibes of any hostel I have ever been to. The owner is a total misogynist, ask him about surf conditions and he will basically tell you to "go suntan with the other girls." and when someone basically sexually assaults you in your dorm room. he will do almost nothing. this place is the worst place...

I recently stayed at Don Jon’s for a good friend’s wedding. I had never been to Costa Rica – the furthest South I had traveled was Mexico and that was either on a cruise or in a timeshare. Needless to say I didn’t know quite what to expect. I can tell you that from the moment we walked through the...
