As a solo female traveler I found comfort at Hotel Luz de Luna. Christoph is a kind, calm man who is very helpful and engaging. The rooms are simple and clean with hot water showers, mosquito nets over the beds and patios perfect for relaxing. The bungalow I was in did not have a kitchen or A/C which was fine...

Luz de Luna is right across the surfbeach! So if you want to surf it's a great location! The ATM is a 45 minute walk, but some great restaurants and supermarket are near. We staid in a private bungalow with kitchen. On arrival the bathroom was not really clean but after that they cleaned the bungalow every day so that...

We stayed 2 nights and could easily stayed longer but ran out of time. Traveling with 2 kids (9and13) and they loved the money's in the trees around the house. Absolutely a place we would recommend to everyone that want to live in the "jungle" and nice for the kids with the pool after a long day at the beach...

My husband and I stayed with another couple here for 4 nights. This was our 7th visit to CR and have travelled the entire country. Luz de Luna has a very welcoming pool in the centre of the resort. Our room was simple and cozy with a loft. The kitchen was small but well equipped with everything needed to prepare...

This is a cabin style stay with wildlife literally right outside the door. We enjoyed the hammock on the porch and loved the open style cabins. This is a wide open cabin without A/C but each bed has a mosquito net that was a lifesaver in the Costa Rican jungle. We stayed here for 4 nights and was our favorite...

We stayed 4 nights in Luz de Luna and enjoyed the relaxing setting of our cabin in the middle of a quiet garden with pool. Basic comfort combined with natural (hardwood) materials and tasteful accessories. Together with the hospitality and Zen attitude of Christophe - we found peace of mind in this perfect oasis just some footsteps away from the...

I stayed at Luz de Luna for a couple of days and it was very pleasant. The bungalow was huge and had beautiful (real) wood floors with high ceilings and lots of good air flow. No AC but with a couple of fans, it was not a problem. The kitchen was nicely furnished and everything worked well. I made the...

This place was perfect for us - a comfortable simple airy hardwood Cabina with a kitchen (they also have some without). The setting back off the main road is peaceful, the garden is simple but nice. The kitchenette was pretty basic, but worked for us. The wifi was a little spotty.

What an experience it was staying here! Although it took my husband a day or so to get used to no A/C, leaving your doors and windows open and sleeping with a mosquito net, I had a wonderful time living the ultimate beach lifestyle. Within walking distance to restaurants and Santa Teresa beach, I would definitely recommend staying here for...

“Make sure to keep your suitcases and bags shut during your stay because we had some mice come visit us at night and while we were out (to be expected when you're basically in the middle of the rain forest). Also keep food in the fridge to minimize visits from these friendly critters.”
