A group of seven of us stayed here in March, 2015. We couldn't have had a better experience. Everyone who worked at Shaka was no nice! The food was amazing and Mike, the owner, had the answer to every question. Several of us were visiting Costa Rica for the first time and the people at Shaka really made us feel...

A group of 7 of us travelled to Costa Rica a few weeks ago, and stayed in 2 of the Shaka cabins for 5 days. Shaka has a great feel to it, which was apparent immediately upon our arrival. Mike, the owner, is very knowledgable of the area and culture. Megan, the yoga instructor, has trained in many types of...

This is quite simply the best place I've ever stayed. The rooms are beautiful, it's right on Playa Hermosa which is the best beach in the area for surfing and probably also the most beautiful. It has a lovely garden, the food is home cooked and delicious, but the best part of all are the incredible staff who were just...

First let me start off by saying I have never written a review about anything before....however after my stay at Shaka, I felt very compelled to do so. Beautiful location just minutes from the beach. Every staff member was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and all quickly became more like friends. Surf instructors ( Erick and Helen) were...

From the beginning to the end, this trip was nothing short of outstanding. The calm and relaxed atmosphere can be felt the minute you step foot into the Shaka complex. The Cabana's were clean, beautiful, and Air Conditioned to remind us what Canada will be like upon return. Playa Hermosa beach is a short 3 minute walk and is spectacular....

If you're looking to take an unforgettable vacation unlike any other, then I strongly suggest you book a trip to Shaka. Aside from the obvious surf and yoga as advertised, Shaka is in close proximity to amazing tropical adventures. I went primarily for the surfing (barely knowing the basics) and left the week able to go out on my own...

Shaka is one of the best places I have ever stayed. I can't say enough about this place and the people other than that my wife and I are already planning our next trip back. We spent a week with some incredible people, ate some amazing food and surfed one the most beautiful beaches I have ever been. Our second...

This is my second time in this part of Costa Rica. I cannot wait to go back there again. If you want to unwind, learn how to surf, relax, eat good food, and forget about wherever you are coming from this is your place. Shaka nestled inside a tropic forest, three minutes walking distance from Playa Hermosa - an amazing...

I was a volunteer at a surf camp here last summer and it was incredible. You pull up into a very secluded paradise, where the energy is amazing. Wake up early for dawn patrol and walk down the path to the beach. Its absolutely amazing, the surf is perfect, Im just a beginner, the waves are big enough for everyone...
