Driving from Cape Town towards the Karoo desert you experience a tremendous nature and it's wonderful to be part thereof. But miles and miles further you ask yourself where to stay......we have been that fortunate to end up at Jeanne's place; not for a night as planned but extended our stay with another two nights purely based on the nice... Aasvoelkrans is one of the places we never miss out on during our annual trip to South Africa. Just been for our 8th stay and it just gets better and better. Beautiful garden blazing with colour and pool to relax in, delicious breakfasts presented in a most elegant way, delightful and very unusual rooms and the big plus of always... More

I wish I could rate this higher as Aasvoëlkrans is a wonderful site for a B&B and while very different from what you might find for decor from many B&B's it is quite interesting and entertaining. The grounds are well tended and there is a pool and a hiking trail directly across the road to enjoy. What I couldn't abide... More

Beautifull B&B in wonderfull setting, peacefull and relaxing and just that little bit different (wich some people may not understand). Jeanne the owner is one with her B&B garden and surroundings. It is a complete picture. Nice breakfast! We could stay just one night unfortunately and we will return for certain to stay longer to absorbe the nice atmosphere. Thanks,... More

We were met at the door by a sour-faced, unfriendly hostess which didn't bode well. We had booked here because we were assured a cot for a 7month old baby; we found instead a playpen with a duvet in the bottom - totally unsafe for a young baby. Our request for a proper mattress (and perhaps an adaptor to use... More

I wish I could say the same thing as all the reviews I have read before booking this b&b. We were greeted by a not so friendly host almost as if Jeanne-our host did not expect us. It was our family break, and probably the worst part of an otherwise pretty guest house. The place itself is stunning, but we... More

Wunderful B&B cottages in a lovely garden and spectacular view. Very nice hosts who do care a lot about their guests, with many helpful tipps and an outstanding breakfast (the best we had in RSA!). :-) Very quiet and secure neighbourhood. Montagu is a small and lovely town with hot springs, several nice nature walks and a good infrastructure (nice... More

This is one of the cutest B&B we have stayed in during our trip around South Africa. The property is located on the edge of Montagu, surrounded by wild and magnificently beautiful mountains. It also has a swimming pool and a very well-tended garden where you can admire the views. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and opens onto the... More

This was possibly one of my most contradictory stays in South Africa. As a guest house manager and frequent traveller Aasvoelkrans only ticked some boxes. It is absolutely beautiful, from hand embroided linen and individually eclectically decorated rooms to the most magnificent garden and pool. The VERY DISAPPOINTING downside was the hostess, Jeanne. As a group of 6, we all... More

the garden here is breathtaking, lush and green, with a beautiful pool and surrounded by mountains, it's just spectacular and because montagu isnt on the official "garden" route, it's slightly less touristy and therefore great value. there are 3 individual cottages, prettily and stylishly decorated each with a stoop to sit out and enjoy the surroundings. its very peaceful and...
