Wow, wow, wow.......Galenia is quite possibly one of the loveliest little gems we have ever been fortunate enough to find. I can't believe we only stumbled over it on Booking.com as an add on to our reserve "glamping" experience.....Christina, the manager could not do enough for us and even at very short notice she made special arrangements for us....the food was divine. I am allergic to wheat and dairy and can't eat meat, so a total nightmare to most especially when it is a set menu, but oh my word every night of our 5 night stay was a different vegetarian delight....4 delicious courses and not one was repeated or not up to scratch....and what a lovely lovely genuine lady who takes pride in her food and wants every single diner to experience fresh and tasty food. Honestly nothing was too much.....we don't normally do breakfast but on Christinas request on Christmas morning we did and wow, again delicious in every way, the Galenia special is going to be replicated by ourselves it was sooooo delicious. I could go on and on, but honestly the place needs to be experienced by you, the decor is stunning all Block and Chisel, nothing has been left to chance, Charlotte Rys products in abundance, no miniatures or wasteful plastic, but full size free standing bottles of everything, from Shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath and even room spray for those men in the loo ;)....not only is the interior stunning, the location is just so, breathtaking, if it is to be enjoyed from your stoop, the pool, sitting in the jacuzzi or taking a stroll through the many trails on the estate, every vista is unique and makes u realise just how beautiful South Africa is.... I cannot wait to go back....!…
We stayed for 3 nights to explore Montagu, a small town we normally only drive through. What a find Galenia is! From the moment we walked in, we found welcoming staff and excellent service, we could not have asked for more. Everything is spik and span, the rooms very luxurious and immaculate.. King size bed, linen and pillows are excellent quality. Lovely pool and comfortable pool loungers. The dinner was outstanding, but a 4 course meal at night is a bit too much for our liking. Breakfast was delicious with lots of fresh fruit and home made juices.. And then there is the view! From every place you can see expansive views of the mountains surrounding Montagu. We did a couple of the walks on the farm, which we enjoyed. We really, really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back rather sooner than later. It will be hard to find a better place in Montagu.…

What an amazing estate with great attention to detail . The staff, the rooms the environment extraordinary. Olive tasting so informative, walk with Patsy and her sharing divine. The dinner was superb and breakfast and the muffins are not to missed. Enjoy
Our 9th visit! Only missed 2018 because of hubbie's illness and fires in Montagu. The new owners (from 2016) have maintained and improved the luxury we love here. It manages to balance extra high luxury with warm friendliness of staff who are here year after year and welcome us like family. Super views you can stare at all day. Lovely pool (only sadness is the gazebo jacuzzi that was destroyed by fire), super spacious rooms with private terraces. Delicious breakfasts part buffet/part served and evening meals so you can relax and not have to drive into town. I really enjoy the resident ostriches who make for amusing company and the informative morning walks through the huge estate. Home grown olives and olive oil. Can recommend the Protea Farm tractor ride - better on a clear day.
