We went to the White Lion Lodge in the Sanbona Nature Reserve just before new year's eve for 3 nights. The lodge sits in the Southern part of the park and hosts 8 guests in total. Expect to have a lot of interaction with the other 7 people, since the drives, drinks and meals are all taken together. Although there...

I loved everything about the White Lion Lodge. It's around a four-hour drive from Cape Town, but it's a nice drive with lots of great views and interesting shops and restaurants along the way. Our room (one of four detached buildings) was large and luxurious, with a big, comfortable bed, a spacious marble bathroom, huge windows with views of the...

We have visited South Africa on several occasions and participated in small wildlife tours. We have never visited any major safari such as Kruger. We decided on Sanbona in particular to view White Lions. We found the whole experience fantastic. On arriving our Lodge was 5 star quality, likewise the food and drink. The staff (as always in SA) were...

Let me first apologize for being almost 4 months late in writing this review! My wife and I planned to spend 2 nights in March this year in this place. It was our 4th anniversary and I wanted to spend time doing some real wildlife. On my research I found this to be the only place near Cape Town where...

The Lodge is small and intimate with lovely staff and great location. Food was also what one would expect from a lodge in this price range. Our room had quite a few issues which, when we informed management, we were told 'we know'. But the huge drawback of coming here to see wildlife is the 5 hours per day that...

Seven of us (a mix of South African and European) booked out the White Lion Lodge in Sanbona Reserve outside Cape Town. What a wonderful experience it was. I've visited lots of game reserves all over Africa and this was one of the best. The lodge is totally private and set against a mountain with the most amazing rooms and...

End February we spent 3 unforgettable days in the White Lion Lodge. Everything was to our best satisfaction.Gerry and her assistants do their best to pamper the guests. Israel is a nowledgeable and excellent guide . He drove us savely through the reserve and explained nature and wildlife. We can only recommend this place as a very personal game lodge.

Highly recommend white lion lodge! From the moment we got there to the moment we left, the hospitality was exceptional!!!! The staff were just so wonderful. Our guide Isreal was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and had a gift for finding the wildlife (other guides were following our group to find animals). The food was great and the wine even...

Safari ,guides and accommodation fantastic, great experience only spoilt by dining experience or rather lack of it, worse food we have had in SA ! not what you would expect from this standard of establishment ! Very poor! Don't be taken in by pictures of food.

Firstly, having been fortunate enough to have been on quite a few safaris before we can easily say that Sanbona is the best game reserve we've ever visited! It is epic and completely different, a huge expanse of Karoo barrenness apparently a quarter the size of Kruger. The desert like, mountain adorned remoteness teamed with a lush lake strewn valley...
