Stayed for two nights in the bungalow. Cosy, warm and spacious for our family of five (sleeps up to 7). Comfy and snug beds, two bathrooms with toiletries supplied. We were made very welcome by Ann and loved the guided tour and feeding of the animals on our first afternoon. Breakfast was a variety of homemade treats including bread, muesli and yoghurt followed by omelettes and bacon. We loved seeing the animals up close and personal. Thank you for a fantastic farm stay, we will definitely return.

We stayed one night at Waitomo Big Bird B&B. We arrived a little late in the day (later than we expected!), and at first I felt a little as if our arrival was a bit of an inconvenience as we had arrived during their dinner time. However, the host explained which accommodation was ours and we got settled in while they finished up their meal. We were keen to do the farm tour the next morning - however didn't realise that on a Sunday there wasn't a tour in the a.m. However, Ann kindly offered to take us on a tour that night. We got to meet and feed some of the animals and the children went to bed so excited "this is the best place ever". We stayed in the bungalow. It has quite a "bachy" feel to it. Casual and rustic but homely. The sheets were so warm, soft and snuggly we had a fantastic sleep. Breakfast the next morning was varied, with an offer of cereals, homemade yogurt, homemade muesli and homemade toast with various spreads, juices, water, tea and coffee. We were offered bacon and eggs which we accepted and got to try an ostrich egg - a first for all of us! The hosts had to rush off after breakfast, however, we were told we were welcome to stay and spend time with the animals, which we did. We particularly enjoyed the company of Jemima the goat, Esme the goat and Savannah the horse. The kids were disappointed we were only staying one night and have asked when we can come back again. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Parts of it are a bit rough around the edges, if you want luxury, book somewhere else. But if you want a memorable experience for your kids, or you're an animal lover, and you appreciate delicious homemade food, then this could be the place for you.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. I do, as much as possible, try to prioritise an animal tour with our gorgeous animals. On rare occasions we do have family commitments which we work around as we are a retiree couple happily offering a "home farm-style visit" to "Our Little Animal-World". We request an ETA the day before arrival so that there is no disappointment regarding expectations. Welcome back anytime...all the best for the future.

A whole lot of tame animals who love to be petted! Very friendly hosts. Highly recommend visiting Big Bird. We very much enjoyed our stay and would liked to have stayed longer. Well worth it, especially for families with young children.

If I could...I would give this place a 10 star review! It was just so much fun! First let me start off by saying the owner Ann is incredibly kind. We finished the dinner banquet tour at Hobbiton and drove to Waitomo around 11pm. We had messaged her saying that she did not need to stay up for us. However, as soon as we pulled into the driveway she was there to help direct us and show us to our room! We woke up and she had our breakfast ready. Eggs, toast, fruit, yogurt and so much more! It was delicious and just what we needed before we our early morning glow worm cave experience. After the glow worm caves we came back and she gave us a wonderful tour of her farm. She had llamas, alpacas, miniature horses that you could pet. But the coolest animals were the ostriches! You could walk with them and pet them. They were huge but very friendly. Even my wife who is afraid of birds enjoyed hanging out with them. We booked through air bnb. Do yourself a favor and book it before the spots get taken up!

We stayed for one night after camping with our friends and kids and thought it was a charming place! The kids loved the tour of all the animals after breakfast. Very friendly and laid back host. They sent breakfast to our bungalow, delicious and wholesome! Thank you for having us, it was a very unique stay.
