I stayed here so I wouldn't have to drive far to visit the Waitomo caves. Great location, although there is not much nightlife, but I didn't really come for the town anyways. Friendly service, helped me out when a space heater broke. A nice, family run establishment.

We arrived just before closing and got a room for the night with two very tired children, the owners were very friendly and accommodating. We had no problems with anything and the rooms were very clean, very comfy beds. Very close to town and nice with the country view from the porch. would highly recommend this motel.

We were looking for somewhere to shelter from deteriorating weather on our way to Auckland and this motel turned out to be ideal. Very nice staff who negotiated a reasonable rate and made sure we were comfortable and that everything was working. A large unit with a full kitchen so we could make own dinner. Will stay there again. Definitely...

We arrived much later than we had intended. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Although the decor is a bit dated, the room was scrupulously clean and warm on a cool night. There was a good wi-fi connection. The beds were very comfortable and despite it being very close to the main highway there was very little noise from...

I would recommend finding alternative accommodation elsewhere (perhaps 10 minutes up the road at Waitomo). The pictures on the websites are of the other half of the motel across the road. There is a chance that like us, you'll be given a room with the motel operators living above it. We were woken up on and off throughout most of...

It is true that our Website has pictures of the other side of our Motel as it is newer than this side where the reception is.I don't see any reason why this Guest was miss guided so to say. When Guests arrive they either have booked specific rooms(we have rooms to suit most sort after ones ie singles, doubles, cheap as...

This motel is located on both sides of the road - the Reception and some rooms are on one side with another 5 units across the road, we were told if we needed anything just to pick up the phone and they would come over. We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit for 2 nights, the beds were comfortable and...

Stepping into the two bedroom unit here was a bit like stepping into a time warp into the 1970's . The light switches ,the power points , the stove , the stainless steel bench top , the carpenter-built kitchen units ..... all these were from an era forty or more years ago . But so was the service provided :...

Very friendly welcome. The unit was basic but very clean. It had everything you need for a short stay. Curtains a bit threadbare and could do with replacement but all the essentials were in good condition - towels, cutlery, crockery etc.
