My husband and I recently stayed at Waitomo Caves Guest Lodge and can highly recommend it as a good spot if you are visiting the caves and attractions in Waitomo. It's right in the center of the township with easy access to the information centres, Spellbound, the General Store and other places to eat. The room, although older in style...

If you are arranging your activities Colin is your guy. He is very Knowledgeable of the area and knows all the Tour operators and attractions and can book anything you want and usually at a discount. Very Helpful. The B&B itself, well that is another story. While not a bad place it is just a little long in the tooth...

Thanks for the review and we are sorry our B&B did not live up to your expectations. To address your main concern, the breakfast, we do advertise a continental breakfast and we provide more than you would receive on the Continent. Fresh baked croissants, wheatmeal toast, home made jams and marmalade, 3 types of yoghurt, 4 varieties of local honey,...

This worked very well for what we needed. We were only staying the night to do an early morning cave activity the next day. We had a small room, but it was clean and had everything we needed in it. The wifi signal was not great in the rooms, but was fine in the lobby area. The owners were very...

We do warn guests that our smallest, cheapest room receives little or no wifi signal inside due to the construction material stopping the signal. The reception is excellent everywhere else.

Fabulous guest lodge. Warm cosy rooms. Immaculately clean. Home made cookies and jam, and a very generous continental breakfast. Colin and Janet the hosts were wonderful. Ample car parking. Close to everything. The guest house is right across the road from Huhu restaurant (phenomenal menu), and within 100 meters of the information centre, pub and general store. We traveled as...

Colin was very welcoming and full of information. He gave us excellent information on cave trips and experiences and also got us "the best price".Listen to his advice on dinner possibilities.... they are spot on. Continental breakfast was pleasant and spacious room gave you the possibility to mingle with other guests.

Thanks for the review. One of the great things about staying in a B&B is the chance to mix and mingle with the other guests over breakfast. It is a good chance to get information from other like-minded travellers and you may even meet a long lost acquaintance.

Had a wonderful stay here after our trip to the local caves. From my trip to Waitomo I would say this is *the* location if you want to stay in town. Colin and Janet are wonderful hosts and the property is easily within walking distance of the tour operators and the best restaurant in town, Huhu. The rooms are small,...

We booked 3 rooms (#1, 3, and 4) for a night while exploring the area. Janet and Colin were very responsive to emails before we arrived, and offered great suggestions for things to do/places to eat. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. There are laundry facilities available on-site (up until 9pm) and a shared guest fridge. The breakfast in...

This was a wonderful choice to stay at to go to see the caves- right in the middle of the little village. We walked to dinner and to then cave locations (granted, it was a 10-15 min walk, but there was a sidewalk). The Guest House was beautiful with an overflowing garden. The rooms were spacious and well maintained and...

My only regret is in NOT staying longer! We booked one night here on our way south. We had received and email prior to our visit from Colin and Janet with information on parking, room, laundry, etc. Colin and Janet were very welcoming, giving us suggestions on where to eat, general store information, a map of where to locate glowworms...

Stayed here with the family for our cave visit. Exceptionally clean, centrally located B and B. The hosts were fantastically helpful and kind. Waking up to sound of all the birdsong was a great way to start the day!

Thanks for your kind words. Waitomo Caves Village is a very pleasant area and we are so pleased you enjoyed the early morning bird song chorus. It is what we intended when we planted the shrubs to attract the bellbirds, tuis, grey warblers etc.
