The 3 of us stayed in this hotel for a night and was comfortable enough. Sure the hotel had seen better days but there is still an old world charm with it. The gardens outside were well kept and pretty. Our room was a bit stuffy and we called the reception. Another fan was brought into the room promptly by...

We had one night here. Staff where fantastic and the place has a wonderful old world charm that makes it a very special spot to stay. Some of the rooms could do with a bit of work, but overall we loved the hotel and would happily come back and stay here again.

We loved our stay at Waitomo Caves Hotel, the staff were lovely and accommodating and the whole historic feel to the building was quite pleasant. Most people may say it needs rennovating but honestly the old look and feel made the stay a memorable one. Although it is said to be "haunted" we experienced nothing of the like and would...

An amazing old hotel in a great location. We slept in the 4 poster bed that the Queen slept in during her stay there in the 50's. Yes, the wallpaper is peeling and the bathrooms have seen better days, but that all adds to the charm. The rooms are being renovated (and painted - no more wall paper!) two at...

We stayed here overnight as we wanted to visit the glow worm caves close by, it is in the process of being renovated, which when finished will hopefully bring it back to its former glory. Our room was a family room two adjoining rooms with a shared bathroom, sadly in need of renovation, the beds were comfortable, and the views...

We stepped back in time in staying at the waitomo caves hotel but not in a bad way. This was a marvellous hotel dating back to the early 1900s. While the furnishings were somewhat dated, the room and facilities were comfortable and clean. It is also very well located to access the waitomo caves and other adventurous pursuits in the...

This was a great hotel to stay at in Watomo. Several restaurants nearby and a good cafe around the corner. The rooms are clean and the staff is extremely helpful. The glowworm caves are right behind the hotel. We stayed in Room 14, the haunted room. Great view from the balcony. The bar has a great wine selection as well.

Once a glorious hotel but now a little dilapidated and dated. Due to renovations we were upgraded to a superior double room. Positives of our room included a very comfortable king bed, fridge, closet, iron, deep tub (with a plug), tea service and chocolates. The carpet had seen better days and there was an odd smell about. There’s a hot...

This was our first stop in New Zealand. We did not manage the caves that day,so we just had dinner and went to sleep in these perfect bed. The rest was not so perfect like the cold bath with a strong draft!!! Nevertheless, a nice stay, recommendable and we would come again!
