My Partner and I stayed with Chris and Deb for 4 nights. They were perfect hosts and Chris provided exceptional home cooked breakfast each day - restaurant quality! I would recommend anyone to stay at Winston Cottage who wants a relaxing time in a beautiful green location with easy access to the beach. Thanks Chris and Deb.

I’ve stayed here two years in a row. The hosts Chris and Deb have been nothing but magic and made my stay amazing! I have booked again this time next year ( 3 years in a row) I’m so thankful that places like this exist (dog friendly) I love the hot breakfasts that I get when I stay!!! All in all - it’s nothing but down to earth, hospitable, kind and welcoming accommodation!!! Thanks again guys

Firstly we booked through Airbnb where it was advertised as a 2 bedroom unit. Got there it is a 1 bedroom unit so I asked where my foster niece will sleep. He said the seat in lounge room was pull out bed so she could sleep there. But then he told me booking was only for 2 so have to pay extra. I told him to check as I was sure it was 3 people which he later confirmed. He then told us the pool wasn't available but beaches were near by so that was the 2nd major issue as we booked to relax by the pool as my niece has been waiting for summer and chance to swim. We should have packed up and left then and there but didn't know the refund policy and chance of getting our money back. As it was dog friendly we took our dog but were very hesitant of letting her out to play as the yard was covered in dog poo issue number 3. They also had 2 dogs, both Border Collies where the oldest unfortunately looks on its last legs and an energetic 8 month puppy which jumps up and nips at your face so be careful with little children or older people with balance problems so issue number 4. The dogs will also walk in and out of your room as they please if the door is open and he told me they may sleep outside your room as well. While checking the refund policies and chance to get our money back their puppy pushed our puppy down the stairs (I understand they were playing but my dog walked away with bad leg and $300 vet bill) As the room wasn't as advertised and we were unable to use the pool, I complained and tried to negotiate to stay 1 night and refund 1 night as didn't feel like driving for another 2 hours to get home. He kept referring to Airbnb policy of 7day notice needed and basically told me to get lost. The fact is under Australian consumer law as the accommodation didn't match the advertisement in the number of rooms or facilities offered (the pool) we were entitled to a full refund. We decided to leave and try our luck with full refund due to rudeness of the owner. We ran into usual issues you hear about with Airbnb but upon further investigation found evidence that the same accomodation was advertised as 1 bedroom on all other websites and even had fine print that the pool wasn't available in some sites. After this was supplied along with screenshots and links to Australian consumer law we finally got a refund from Airbnb but not the host who profited off their false ad. The owners purposely mislead potential customers on Airbnb due to Airbnb reluctance to give refunds and hold their accommodation suppliers to account. Other sites and platforms with better reputations would kick them off their platform for the same behaviour so their ads on those sites were listed accordingly. The result after I threatened to go to fair trading was a credit to full value paid for by Airbnb. The owners got to keep my money and keep advertising a 2 bedroom unit with a pool to the next sucker they can trap

Having been a regular visitor to Winston Cottage now over several years I can not recommend a stay there highly enough. The hosts are amazing, and make you feel like you are part of the family. Every stay is friendly, comfortable and both Deb and Deb are always so generous and eager to do everything to make you feel welcome. The conversation is as good as the food, which is always first rate. View from the property across the lush surroundings is so peaceful. Added bonus is a beautiful old Border Collie and a totally adorable, gorgeous little puppy who just wants to lick you to death. If I could give 11 stars I would.

Very welcoming and friendly and everything was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and it was so nice to have a coffee machine available. Netflix was great too for chill-out time. Our 2 dogs were made to feel very welcome and the fully fenced garden allowed them freedom to wander around. We'd definitely visit again.
