We stopped here for 2 nights on our road trip from Snowy Mountains to Brisbane. What a wonderful surprise it was! A beautiful eco resort, filtered water, fresh organic herbs and vegetables to use from the garden, a beautiful breakfast basket with free range eggs and all essential items. The cottages are architecturally designed and beautiful with a log fire. The games room included table tennis and a pool table. We have a child in a wheelchair and our accessible cabin was suitable and comfortable. Hosts are welcoming and clearly love their property. Highly recommend this little piece of paradise near Bulahdelah.

We had a fabulous stay at Bombah Cottages as part of our summer break. The cottages are gorgeous, big and spacious with a wonderful vibe. Loved the big deck with a bbq. They are well spaced so you have total privacy and can’t hear or see your neighbours. Lots of spots to relax: day bed in the master bedroom and a hammock on the deck. Kids loved the spa in the bathroom with the bath products. Pool was perfect and the kids loved being able to visit the chickens and collect eggs. A highlight was seeing a python and a large goanna. I loved morning runs down to the lake. Hosts were lovely.

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Bombah Point Eco Cottages. The cottages are beautifully designed and tastefully decorated and located in a secluded bush setting. The kitchen is well stocked and there are lots of thoughtful touches. The hosts couldn't have been more obliging (whilst still providing us with privacy). I couldn't recommend these cottages more highly and just wish that we lived closer and could return more easily!

We spent a few days here which we booked six months in advance hoping to get the best cottage. Turns out you cannot pick which one but couples will be moved to the smaller one, to accommodate if larger family books later, even though you pay the exact same price. Being in the smallest is no problem at all, the host was lovely and helpful, the location has nice, nearby beach and access to swim in the lake all great. The cottage itself is really lovely, comfortable and decent inside. However a word of warning, none of them are overly private, you can see the other cottages from your cottage and you can hear the people talking at times. We ended up in number 3, definitely NOT a treehouse, it is on street level, with glass front and side and no blinds or shutters, so at night while watching TV everyone can see inside from the track, yes there are two tracks near the front and people walking past often, also get the odd car going past every now and then. Even the back deck can be seen from the front track, so it was quite difficult for a couple to relax and felt like we were in a fish bowl. This is definitely geared at families with small children and I can see how that would be good for them. For couples looking for a quiet getaway this is probably not the place.

Response from Lauren Piddington , Owner at Bombah Point Eco Cottages
Responded 7 June 2023
Thanks so much for your feedback, it was a pleasure to host you both. As your stay with us was at Christmas (our busiest time of the year for family celebrations), the holiday atmosphere was quite lively, and there were mostly larger family groups enjoying our property and facilities. These larger groups we host in our largest cottages, for which they pay an increased rate. The vast majority of our guests are couples, and it’s usual for us to receive amazing feedback on their experience here at Bombah. All our eco cottages are in fact tree-house style, as they are all built high on the side of a hill, extending out from the ground level entrance way, supported on the other side with stilts. From the veranda of each cottage, you are surrounded by trees, and the ground falls away below the cottage, elevating you from the walking tracks. We are saddened to hear that your experience wasn’t everything you had hoped it to be. Our hope is always that our guests fall in love with this special piece of Worimi country, that is so close to our hearts.

Wow this place did not disappoint! Such an amazing place to stay! It was hands down the most relaxing holiday we’ve ever been on. There’s 6 cottages there, which are all spread out and we barely bumped into anyone else for the whole of our stay- even around the pool area. The cottages are very spacious, clean and well equipped. Duncan and Gail were amazing hosts, and very attentive with lots of local knowledge. Such a great location! Beautiful places to visit around the area, which aren’t far to get to by car. You can collect fresh eggs, and herbs from the garden, and even spot the local wildlife while you’re there. Would highly recommend to anyone, especially those who want to chill out and switch off for a few days.

We only had 2 nights here as our last stop before flying back to UK but what a wonderful place to end our holiday! I wish we could have had more time. Duncan was very friendly and helpful, the ‘cottage’ (number 5) was gorgeous, it was really spacious with a great loft room for my son and lovely veranda for relaxing. Great kitchen and BBQ. We managed to fit in kayaking and body boarding down the sand dunes at Mungo Brush and swimming at Bennett’s Beach, as well as a walk around the site and foraging for herbs and fruit. It was a shame the ferry at Bombah Point was closed, check whether it’s open before making plans on how to get there and where to go once you’re there.

Welcomed by people who clearly care about what they are doing . Waking to the music of birdsong. Collecting fresh eggs from the chicken coop. Drifting in a kayak beneath circling ospreys and sea eagles. Eating on the deck with fresh and local produce put together in the open kitchen. Watching the sun go down from up in what felt like a tree house. Serenaded to sleep by the frogs in the dam. That’s 5 out of 5

My partner and I spent our 3rd year anniversary here. This place is absolutely peaceful. Booking was a breeze, I forgot to include the breakfast hamper but it was easily added by Duncan with just a quick email (the hamper is a MUST!) Arriving there we were greeted by Duncan who welcomed us by showing us around and giving us some ideas on some activities and places to explore. We were then showed to our eco cottage which was just stunning. During our stay we enjoyed our fire in the fireplace, the beautiful produce in our breakfast hamper, having a brush turkey visit us every morning (we named him Dennis), enjoyed a big 1.5 hour hike, a lovely spa bath, and were just able to relax and enjoy each other's company in a peaceful setting. We absolutely fell in love with this place, it's essentially my dream home and lifestyle. I cannot wait to come back.

everything about the cottage was fabulous. breakfast was absolutely amazing with beautiful fresh eggs and vegies. we managed to pick some fresh veggies to cook for dinner the 2nd night. we drove up to seal rocks and walked the the lighthouse then drove up to Forster for a feed of prawns by the water. on the way home we called into Nabiac hotel fot a nice cold ale. we are reasonably local to the area being only 1 hour away but in saying that my suggestion would be turn off the highway and go to Hawkes Nest and Tea Gardens, check out the area then head towards Mungo brush stopping off along the way at the tourist spots, amazing, beautiful stops. keep heading along the road till you get to the ferry and proceed across onto the ferry then head onto Bombah for an amazing stay. Thank you so very much to the team, great work. i won this 2 night stay for my 60th birthday. Deb Tanner
