I understand that some people who travel and stay in hostels are very much into the party scene, which is great; however, it is wonderful when a place takes into account the people who want to get some sleep and maybe get up early to watch the sunrise or make it to a morning yoga class on the beach. Tribu...

My friend and I stayed in Tribu Hostel for a couple of nights and it filled all of our expectations. The atmosphere was really chilled and hammocks offered great opportunities for relaxation. The rooms were decent and kitchen made cooking possible with all the equipment needed. Hippie-stylish hostel has also a bar where guests can meet up. The incredible beach...

Given the limited options available on Holbox this is a reasonable option for travellers. The rooms are basic but the communal area is nice and the staff friendly. The kitchen is also above-average for Central American hostel standards I thought. It is however definitely the most expensive hostel we stayed in in the Yucatan province - for the price of...

Stayed here for 3 nights and did not want to leave. Hostel is 2 minutes away from the beach, and is exceptionally clean. Hot water always available and great communal area/bar which makes it easy to chat to others. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend the kayak tour led by Jason. He's very passionate about nature and loves...

The bar was closed for renovations during my stay but that just means the Hostel is making improvements. Apparently they do this once a year in low season. Very accommodating and friendly staff and enjoyed the hammock chairs in the lounge area. Would come back.

This hostel is an awesome tree-house style backpackers heaven. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a nice spot to eat and hang out, overlooking the rest of the hostel. It has a great location, two minutes away from the beach and a stones throw away from shops on Holbox. The staff are organizing events regularly and we...

This island is beautiful. Tribu is a lovely hostel, the private rooms are great and well worth the price. Kitchen was clean and tidy always with free water. The hostel is beautiful. I can definitely understand why this is recommended in the Guardian. One of the best hostels we stayed in our 5 month trip of central and South America.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Tribu for 5 nights and loved it. It was busy and loud at times, but we didn’t mind. Most of the other travelers were in our age group, so it was nice to get to know them a bit. We booked our whale shark tour through the hostel and it was perfect – there...

The rooms and showers were substantial, but we were there for 2 nights and the bar was closed both nights due to understaffing. We were attracted by the 'cinema' advertised online, but when we went to watch a film we discovered that this has been converted into another dorm. They relied heavily on volunteers staying there without proper management. A...
