We underestimated how long it would take to drive up the windy roads and our other Grenada host from my previous hotel said it was not possible in the dark after our flight in from the US. We tried to contact the Cottages but failed so I asked my host to contact the cottages. S

We booked the Mango Bay Cottages as it was a small quiet place away from it all. After reading the reviews - which were okay up until we booked, we were looking forward to some relaxation. However, on arrival we were very disappointed. I have to agree with the more recent reviewe

After reading all the positive reviews, our expectations might have been a bit too high. The latest review has been almost six months ago and we are just wondering what happened in the meanwhile because I am far less enthusiastic than most other reviewers.

Response from Peggy W, Owner at Mango Bay Cottages
Responded 29 Jan. 2018
Thank you for your review, however, I wanted to clarify some important details: First of all, all the cottages are exactly the same size. There is no difference between the upper and lower cottages. They are the same size and the exact same layout with exact same amenities. Secondly, with regard to our restaurant, in all media venues we advertise that we are open on a reservation basis only and reservations must be received 24 hours in advance. We are happy to make breakfast at any time of the morning, and often accommodate guests that have early flights and must leave by 6 am. We just need some advanced notice from guests as to what their itinerary is. We are a very small, boutique establishment that is noted for its private, out of the way ambiance. We have just recently added non-vegetarian items to our menu, but have been an exclusively vegetarian establishment since 2012, so this is a new added feature to serve a range of guests' pallets and dietary needs. We have been accommodating the non-vegetarian on a case-by-case request basis, and have been preparing the non vegetarian items based on those specific guest requests. Lastly, we apologize for the maintenance and repairs that were in process during your visit. The rainy season was fierce this year, and we have been facing several significant repair issues as a result. I am very happy to report that the stairs to the beach are restored, repaired and in good working order! In addition, I would like to add that this is only one of three ways of accessing the beach. The other two paths have always been accessible and maintained in good order to ensure that our guests have the best possible alternative during the repair work and the safest possible experience. We informed guests of the repair work underway during this time and am sorry that the inconvenience resulted in your negative experience. We tried to work with any guests that came to us with concerns as the work commenced and am sorry we did not get the opportunity to discuss these issues with you. It is our constant aim to make our guests' stay enjoyable and to their ultimate satisfaction.

This place is amazing for those seeking a remote and romantic stay. There are only few cottages making this place feel quite private as the number of "neighbor guests" is limited. Each cottage comes with its own kitchen, bathroom and terrace. Not all of the cabins offer direct vi

Stayed here in the middle of November for 3 nights. On arrival was shown my cottage - beautiful with a superb coastline view (recommend to ask for this if you stay here). Ate breakfast and dinner for the duration of my stay; probably best food I've ever ate in paid accommodation

I haven't been able to get a response from Mango Bay... can you share an email address or functioning website with me? Their website seems to have been down for the past month or so. Thank you!
Are the cottages equipped with blow dryers? Don't want to overpack if not necessary!
no blowdryers available.

I've read pets are allowed? Anyone experience pet odors or pet hair problems? Is this place non-smoking?
Are there markets near the hotel? Do we have to rent a car? Can we rent one on site?
There are no markets near the hotel. technically you would be able to reach the hotel with the public minivans circling around the island and walk for 10 minutes from the road. As there are no facilities within walking distance renting a car would be a good idea.
