Stayed at Casa Sophia, next to Casa Basita for two nights. Sophia was wonderfully friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and the breakfasts and dinner she prepared for us very good - the piña coladas are highly recommended! We found sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch watching the world go by very relaxing.

We actually stayed in Casa El Frita, just behind the main Villa Basita but part of the same complex owned by the same family. Our host Maikely was lovely, keen to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was simple but good - the fresh juices at breakfast were a highlight. We were surprised by how spacious and... We took a contrary view to our an earlier review as our expectation, in what was an exceptionally busy tourist season for Cuba, was to anticipate some disruption to our booking but to expect a good standard of accommodation and service. Our tour operator explained that Casa Bastita was a family network of homestays and accordingly we were routed to... More

Having been booked into this casa, by a reliable tour operator, but having seen several reviews, which mentioned overbooking, we were not at all surprised that we were directed to another casa, with no real explanation given! We believe that this new casa was run by a relative and was three quarters of a mile away, luckily we had kept... More

We were booked in with Casa Basita but placed in Case El Frita behind the main house run by family members Maikelys y Alexei. We had their own house to ourselves which was simple and delightful. It is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the town centre. Maykelys did us a gorgeous feast of a meal for our first evening... More

Casa Basita is nice, clean and very well positioned. It's a short walk from the center, Where you'll find several banks and many souvenir shops, bars and restaurants. Uppon our arrival they welcomed us with coffe and sandwiches. Basita and her husband are lovely and we really enjoyed our stay.

We were very privileged to have an entire casa to ourselves during our stay in Vinales. This included a kitchen, living-room, bedroom and porch. The casa was clean and comfortable and we were looked after during our stay by a kind and caring friend of the family who made our breakfasts and cooked us a lovely dinner on arrival. I... More

We were moved to Basita's daughter in law next door. The twin room was very cramped with little storage space, but the en suite was a good size. Sophia was friendly and arranged for us to get a guide for a tour...well worth doing. We also drove to the beach which took about 50 minutes. Sitting on the porch watching... More
