Front bar is cozy and staff friendly and helpful. Off season my husband and I were delighted with our upgraded room on arrival. We booked a standard double but we're given this amazing four poster sea front room instead! The bed was huge and very comfortable. I wished we had the time to lay in late!

Another lovely restful couple of days here. Great food and attentive staff. The room was warm, with a view over the harbour and a hot drink was very relaxing. Had no problem with either the bath or shower and look forward to next months visit.

A beautiful old hotel ,,, it needs bringing up to date. They are doing the updates a bit at a time the public areas have been done in the last few years. The bedrooms are a work in progress. Upgrade for the best rooms. The food is old fashion but very good quality, the staff are very helpful in all...

Popped in for a quickie lunch last week, and glad now we did. Very pleasantly received on entry, and a nice wee cosy bar. Steak pie was truly delicious and the macaroni cheese amongst the best I've seen. Another golden find for the list..😀👍

Lovely bar space with open fire. Well stocked bar with fair prices. Welcoming, gentle atmosphere from staff & locals. Great views. Nice bar food. Big dining room with extensive reasonably priced menu. Special fixed price menus for Sunday lunch. Don't miss out on fantastic local seafood landed on the harbour 200 yards away. Clean comfortable rooms with all usual amenities...

Stayed here for the music festival, with a group of friends. Staff at hotel were lovely but the room? It should NEVER have been let. Clean beds and towels but the room was filthy. Hotel was full so couldn't get a move. I will let the pics speak for themselves. Avoid this place, should be closed down!!

We stayed one night on the way to Islay and again on the way back with our dog. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable although quite tired as was most of the building. The breakfast was well cooked and plenty of it

Possible one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I stay in hotels at least once every 2 weeks throughout Argyll & Clyde as part of my work. So have a good understanding of comparable facilities in the area. The staff were pleasant for the most part. The evening bar menu. Microwave heaven (sarcasm). The facilities. Old and...

My partner and I stopped in here on recommendation from the locals as a great place to eat. The menu looked promising so we decided to get a table. This is where it all went wrong. After ordering mozzarella bites for starter & the chicken burger for mains, again from the menu sounding very promising everything that we received was...

We booked the Tarbert hotel having had ferry trouble and needed a one night stay on the mainland. We phoned around Tarbert looking for a family room or two rooms to suit two adults two children. We were delighted when Tarbert Hotel said they had two rooms. That wasn't to last long. Upon entering "bates motel" the downstairs was actually...
