I stayed here for a conference which was being held in the hotel and was very disappointed. The room itself was warm and the bed comfortable and clean but the hotel itself is very tired and dropping to bits. The cooked breakfast was swimming in grease, however some fruits and pre packaged pastries were available, and the pretence of quality...

Four of us stayed for one night midweek. The hotel is an historic building and the character of the place has been well preserved. Friendly and efficient staff, and first rate cleanliness. The hotel has the advantage of being bang in the middle of the High Street, with easy access to the other bars and cafes. Value for money is...

I arrived at the hotel at 9pm and there was no one on Reception. However, there was a note saying to call a number and someone would come. I called it and after 10 minutes no one arrived so I went to the bar and found the barman who was the person I spoke on the phone with, who was...

Stayed here with work for the night and thank heavens it was only once. Walking in you are hit with the aroma of old stale cigarettes which was even stronger in my room, number 17. Completely out-dated, freezing cold, stained walls, dirty carpets. Reading all these reviews and also having one of my colleagues waking up to a huge bed...

There's not too much that needs to be said here. When a hotel's profile on here contains pictures of insect bites in 2 of the first 3 images, you know things are going to be interesting - and it lived up to that billing. I have several bite marks and one of my colleagues had a rather large cockroach walk...

Having travelled the world, I've experienced both good and bad hotels. This is certainly up there with the the worst of them. Do you get what you pay for? If for 40 quid you have the privilege of small creatures in your bed, then pay more and avoid this place. I've stayed a lot nicer hostels for less.

We arrived around 8 o'clock in the evening, and after a swift check in we went to a lovely room, with window to the high street. What a view!!! The room was nice and Cusy. We planed to go to a Indian restaurant across the road but the bar atmosphere was so tempting that we couldn't resiste to try a...

Disgusted when we woke to find the bed full of bed bugs. Collected a few in a cup but some managed to escape. Hopefully the hotel will sort this. Didn't stay for breakfast just packed our stuff and left. Shame as it's a lovely looking hotel.
