I had a long weekend walking in the Yorkshire Dales using Sykes House as my base. Michael and Alison the proprietors couldn’t do enough for me, they keep the place immaculate and serve a tremendous full English (Yorkshire) breakfast. The place is old and quirky without a straight wall in the house, a lovely stone staircase. beamed ceilings, the lot....

This was an excellent stay in a friendly and comfortable place, within a very attractive village set in the Yorkshire Dales. We stayed just the one night as we were walking the Dales Way, and though it was some distance from my stopping point, it was worth the effort to get there.

Fantastic B&B located in the heart of the village. Michael and Alison the perfect hosts, answering all our questions, made us feel right at home straight away. Room clean, nicely furnished, warm, comfy beds, shower hot and fluffy towels. What more could you ask for? Best bit of all. The breakfast! Top marks to the chef.

Immaculate room, fantastic breakfast, friendly and informative hosts. All this and a building dating back to the 17th century with lots of interesting architectural features. Would definitely return when visiting the Dales.
