The barman was watching TV and there were no customers. When we walked in for a drink he turned the TV up!! A woman who I assume is his partner sat watching the TV also. An old smelly dog was lying across the seats. The barman appeared to be drunk. We drank our overpriced drinks in 5 minutes and left....

Booked here as I was visiting friends. Really cheery reception and showed up to the room. Very nice, it's not the ritz but that reflects in their price. Great little pub downstairs and really friendly service. I would highly recommend this place for what I used it for.

Good location. Centre of Haltwhistle Lumpy bed No door handle on bedroom door, so had to shut it using key. Was advised by locals not to eat there, so didnt do the £5 each for continental breakfast Free parking if you get there early

Amazed with previous review , in the same evening made more than welcome especially as I was walking with my dog. Made to feel like part of the family and had a great nights sleep and breakfast Locals were great and made me feel at home. Sadly never saw fellow residents as they no doubt were taking advantage of the...

Did not feel welcome on arrival . Almost as if we were putting them out. This despite paying over £300 for a group of 9. Don't be expecting any meals or cooked breakfast in the morning. As new management don't do that kind of thing anymore. Rooms shabby . Shower temperature intermittent, boiling or freezing are your only choices. Bar...

Popped in for a pint with our dog during a recent visit to Haltwhistle. We hadn't been sure if it was dog friendly and had asked 2 gentlemen at the front, and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Turned out one gentleman was who was running the bar. A local chap having a drink was also very welcoming....

Stopped here for lunch and pleasantly surprised with the welcome we go and standard of fair on the menu. Well worth a visit in my opinion, in fact probably better if could secure a room for the night and enjoy a few beers there.

We dropped in for lunch. Internal decor rather scruffy, but is a work in progress. Staff were friendly if a bit chaotic, late unlocking for lunch! New management so can only get better. Good, well cooked food, generous portions. Good choices on menu. Quite a lot of competition round about the area, so needs some serious work.

Popped down to Haltwhistle to have a explore of the area and were looking for somewhere to eat. Discovered this little gem of a pub/hotel .Bar staff very friendly and the food was simple but delicious .Lovely quaint atmosphere and ideal for the tourist market. Can't comment on the hotel facilities but it looked very homely and cosy. A lovely...
