This hotel came recommended by friends who said it was charming. I agree, up to a point. Wanting to visit this little-known area, we arranged to stay for three days, with two other couples. Two days of the three were a special two day package advertised on the hotel website and organised by our Spanish-speaking guests via email with the...

Just loved the atmosphere in this hotel fabulous views rooms all very different but very comfortable and all facilities which worked. Christine the owner was a delight in spite of not always being right. She organises great outings, wine and olive oil tastings etc. The food was lovely typical rustic Catalan. Thoroughly recommended

This was a great location from which to do tours of Priorat wineries. Each room has its own character. We went with another couple and our two rooms opened into a sitting room which used each evening to have a glass of wine before going to dinner. Breakfast was very tasty and we enjoyed the restaurant one night for dinner.

A very small village hiding this very nice hotel owned and managed by a very nice couple that can speak Spanish, French and English. The husband also helps occasionally in the hotel's kitchen (see separate review). We chose a superior room and we did not regret it. The room was much bigger and we had a queen size bed. But...

We spent three nights at Cal Llop during a very memorable visit to Catalonia and the Priorat wine region. As noted, they village is tiny and the setting is idealic. The hotel is located at the literal highest point of the hilltop village. As such, space is limited. There are three to four parking spots located in front of the...

Christine is such a wonderful hostess we felt right at home. Good food, great wine and fantastic village make for a perfect Priorat experience. Easily walkable to many of the best wineries Spain has to offer this hotel places you in the middle of everything. Comfortable rooms with nice beds and great bathrooms, the hotel is decorated with the owner's...

My husband and I detoured from Barcelona to the wine country after a trip to Mobile World Congress to this charming hotel. We were delighted at the personal service the charming decor and the delicious food during our stay. The innkeeper an owner also scheduled for us to meet and tour several of the significant wineries of the region and...

This boutique, family-run hotel, is set in the heart of the Priorat wine region; Gratallops is the small, rustic town where Priorat's wine revolution began back in the late 70's. Converted from an old abandoned stone house by Christina and her husband, the hotel is spotlessly clean, charming with warm, welcoming staff. There's a filling breakfast each morning and a...

We just returned from a trip in the Priorat region and stayed two nights at Cal Llop. The people were wonderful and so accomodating. Our group had a small picnic dinner in the courtyard and they helped us with anything we needed. Our room was clean and overlooked the street and the vineyards. I could have stayed there another week.

The hotel is a bit hard to find, since a GPS seems worthless in the narrow, winding roads in the village itself. We ended up parking at the edge of Gratallops and searching on foot. Beware of driving any large vehicles through the town-some roads become very narrow. We were driving a 3 Series BMW, and I wish we'd had...
