Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Charming little quinta with lovely owners in quiet surroundings. Small-scale. Great home cooked dinner. There is a big outdoor swimming pool- unfortunately temperatures in March were still too cold to make use of it but must be really good in summer. Everything was very well maintained. A real hidden gem.

Quinta de Malmedra is a stunning hotel located in idyllic, rural surroundings. On arrival, my husband and I were given the suite room, which was really spacious and overlooked the outdoor pool with a magnificent view of the castle on the hill. I won't spoil it by telling you but the view at night is quite special.
The owners of the hotel, Manuela and Manuel were charming, friendly, warm and extremely professional. Nothing was too much trouble from offering us suggestions about the local area, to making us scrambled eggs before a long journey and to providing us with a kettle.
Breakfast was great and served by two welcoming and cheerful ladies. It was so nice to be offered the option of a late breakfast time without the pressure of having to get up early on holiday.
The facilities are extensive as there is also a play area for children surrounded by pretty plants, which doesn't infringe on the pool area, a gym and a games room with a pool table and a cinema screen.
This is a really lovely place to stay and we were so pleased to find it by chance. Santiago do Cacem is full of great restaurants, not far from the Roman ruins in Mirobriga and a short drive away from some gorgeous beaches. We thoroughly recommend it!

Was passing and booked in - 9 of us on motorbikes, which sometimes puts places off. The owner could not of been nicer - off the main track but stunning scenery, rooms ultra clean, the staff are fabulous. Two swimming pools one indoor and one outdoor. As we arrived late, she cooked 8 dinners at very short notice, wish we could stop longer 👍

It´s a very quiet place far from the confusion with a lovely view. Ideal for big groups, we were 13 couples with a lot of kids and we've spent 1 marvelous week. the location is 10 min from the beach, 10 min from sines and 3 min from Santiago, The beaches are excellent, and it's very easy to find one where you can be by yourself. It's also an good spot for hikers because it's close to the rota vicentina. highly recommended the walk from Porto Covo to Ilha do Pessegueiro.
The rooms are big enough and you fell like you're a guest in somebody's farm. sometimes you can fell the animal's smell, but it's not intense.
highly recomended to go with friends.

In the middle of nowhere, beneath a 7 th century Moors castle. Good size rooms, some with large balconies. Buffet breakfast, WiFi, pretty garden nice pool. Dinner was what your Portuguese grandma would cook, if you had one. Wine very inexpensive
Lovely owner and staff

Our group 31 person stayed there two weeks. There are serious problems with dampness and moud in downstairs rooms and some upstairsrooms too. Air-condition was only in four rooms and playing hall instead of every room. First we had to clean kitchen by ourselves! The pool was cleaned only once at that time, sheets were chainged only for some of us, same with towels. Rooms, kitchen, diningroom and hall wasn't vacumed at all, hall only wiped. There were also a lot of broken things, as one owen, microwave, couple of mini-fridge, elevator for example. The pool was also across from bottom, there were a lot of ceramic tiles broken and off and lights in poolarea were missing. We found some light after checking engineroom by ourselves!!! And all that were promised to include the price!! Luxory?! Far away!!!

We found super friendly and attentive people.
We just didn't like not being notified that the outdoor pool was empty. They filled up the day we left.
However, what was written was that there was an indoor and outdoor pool.
We only enjoy the interior.
