My wife and I were traveling to Norway with our two kids, ages 7 and 9 and were looking for budget accommodations. We had a four person family room, with two sets of bunks and a private bathroom, with a spectacular view of the fjord. The staff was very kind and helpful, and provided a nice breakfast. The game room...

Youth hostel in a former hotel. Good for staying one night as a car tourist. But not a good base for walkers or outdoor people (e.g. the drying room didn't work so we had to improvise to get our walking gear dried). Friendly staff, complete breakfast buffet, good kitchen for self-catering, perfect showers, WIFI all over the place ...

My wife and I stayed in a private room in this hostel. The room was very clean and the bathroom was alright. Very efficient shower space. We stayed in a balcony room, which was nice to hang out on when the rain blew through. The hostel has 2 kitchens, a laundry room, a couple social areas and a breakfast lounge....

This hotel is superbly placed; our room overlooked the fjord and the views were just stunning. The rooms were clean, quiet and well furnished with an en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was good and there was free wifi available in the room. If you need an evening meal you will need to go elsewhere in Balestrand.

This was an old hotel but has been turned into a hostel. The location is superb. Fine views and easy access to the village and surrounding areas. Rooms were very clean and well maintained. The manager was very helpful. Nice place to stay.

This is wonderful hostel. We had huge two beds, balcony, couch, clean and comfortable, great view. It was more comfortable than three star hotel we stayed at in Copenhagen. Breakfast is ok, nice dining room. They have ping pong and air hockey and a computer and TV. Was a wonderful surprise. Nice hiking from there too. Our 3 boys had...

Great location in the fantastic town of Balestrand. We had a double room with en-suite bathroom. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. It felt more like a hotel than a hostel. A nice modest breakfast was provided. The staff was very friendly. Wifi access was available free of charge, we had some difficulty accessing from our room, but no...

Hostel Balestrand was the nicest hostel I have ever stayed at (and I've stayed at several in other European countries). The location in a beautiful fjord-side town, the (relative) value compared to other options in this expensive area, and a very nice and clean interior made this my family's favorite lodging on our entire trip. The facilities looked like they...

With views of the fiords, spacious and super clean rooms, very good breakfast, this hostel was my best one in Norway, yes it is not cheap but.... is in Norway, not the cheapest place for a backpaker. I would recomended it to travelers that will do hiking around the area or to people that enjoy a calm and beauty place....
