We did not know that many things are closed on Sunday Norway or Rjukan region and we were hungry. This restaurant was open and quite busy. The place the order at reception and they took it to our table. Our plates were quite big and there was a lot of good food in them. The price was right and the...

Located next to the huge mountain, Hytteby is a beautiful collection of wodden cottages. Each of the house is well equipped with a kitchen and beds. WiFi is available in every house. Next to the place is a swimming pool and spa. It is open from 3 PM to 8PM during winter season. Hytteby has its reception inside the restaurant...

Thank you for your good review. Then we know you had a pleasant stay. It's only on Mondays Rjukanbadet (swimming pool and spa) is open from 3 pm. to 8 pm. All other days they have longer opening hours. Hope to see you in Rjukan Hytteby on another occasion. Best regards - Knut

Although a little disappointed at the decor, we quickly found we had everything we needed, twin beds, clothes storage, comfy chairs, TV, reliable wifi, very warm, and a kitchen area with two hot plates, coffee maker and fridge. (No kettles in Norway!) The bathroom had an endless supply of hot water. As we were out every day, this worked really...

We actually chose to spend a night here as a halfway point between Stavanger and Oslo and didn't have any expectations. We were pleasantly surprised with the cute little cabin and appreciated the adequately equipped kitchen (a grocery store is quite close) and comfortable living space. However we slept in the downstairs room as the upstairs mattresses were lumpy! (It...

I specifically chose to stay here for our night in Rjukan for cost, location and uniqueness. The price was reasonable by Norway standards, and the location was convenient to all Rjukan sites - even the Gaustabanen is less than 20 minutes away. Also, if you get lucky as we did, your cabin is right on the Mana river. The uniqueness...

We stayed for two nights since we wanted to enjoy the hiking in the area. It is a good starting point if you have a car, the area has a lot to offer. The cabin itself is very basic but clean. Since we stayed there with our 3 children me and my husband had to sleep in bunk beds! Definitely a...

People come to Rjukan for the scenery, walking and to see the famous power station which was the scene of one of the most famous commando raids in WW2 - The Heroes of Telemark. The cabins are cosy, romantic,...

I've now stayed in the cabins at Rjukan Hytteby twice on successive years. First, the positives (which as you'll see from my four star rating I feel vastly outweigh the few negatives). The cabins are warm, dry, clean and relatively spacious in the living area if you're good friends. The limitless hot water supply, large bathroom and TV are also...

Clean spacious cabins, a very nice town to stay in. We stayed over Rjukan Hytteby as a stop over for a night before visiting Bergen the next day. The supermart and the gas station is a quick drive from the lodging. Our room was self equipped with a Teflon frying pan and a cooking pot. Very scenic. The river runs...

Thank you for your review and good critics. We just want to inform our guests that we have installed new wifi. Each cabin now has their own wireless wifi connection. Just to make it clear: All our cabins have electric heating and are warm even on the coldest winter days.
