Very disappointed in our recent stay at this hotel. When we arrived it was very unclear where the reception area was. We located the restaurant and was informed to walk to another door and press the reception button. This did not work and all the other signs were in Italian. As many of us stood at the door waiting to... More

Dear Guest, We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed and that your stay did not meet your expectations; however we are not an hotel but rather an independently run agritourism in a restored 11th century abbey, family owned since 1846, and now an historical monument. Tour and activity rates are clearly communicated on confirmation emails. There is... More

Really worth going for a wine tour and tasting. Not expensive, interesting history that goes well back in the centuries and not a boring tour at all. Well explained and Sabrina, our tour guide, was really prepared on any question we asked. Highly recommended 🍷

Stayed on the property June 16-19th for a wedding. Enchanting property – every brides dream! The grounds are immaculate. Very charming property. Staff very nice and helpful. Wish we could have tried some of the vintage Chianti in the owners wine cellar.

It was really cool to stay in a monastery but we were there the first weekend they opened for the season so it was freezing cold in the room. We tried to make a fire in the public fireplace room which was all set up but we couldn't find matches and the office closes at night sadly so we didn't... More

We went on a guided tour on the property, and ended with a wine tasting in their beautiful garden. The tasting session was average. We got to say that we were a little confused by how the guide talked about how Badia a Coltibuono is all about the organic winemaking, and how horrific non-organic wine production is on the tour,... The property and it's history is quite interesting but I think that is where it ends though. Reputation of the restaurant (which I highly recommend) was the driving force to stay here as there is nothing else close by. Stayed here last Friday evening in May 2016. I am glad that we arrived shortly before 6PM when the office closes... More

Dear Guest, I would like to thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Badia a Coltibuono and for giving me the opportunity to clarify what may have caused some dissatisfaction. It happens that our guests arrive outside the reception opening hours, sometimes very late in the evening. We are always ready and happy to organize their... More

This ancient monastery has been welcoming travelers for at least 1,000 years. Even more remarkable, new archaeological discoveries show that Etruscans lived here 2,000 to 3,000 years ago. For the weary traveler, what matters today is that just as in ancient times this beautiful place will renew the body and soul of the traveler, with fine food, fine wine and... More

This is a lovely old castle with a rich 800+ year history. Just off of 429 and easy to reach, the first building that greets you is a small store selling wines, vin santo, olive oils, ceramics and other odds and ends. It also offers wine tastings. We tasted both wines and olive oils, and a little grappa, before making... More

We stayed at this B&B and enjoyed every moment of it. It is a old monastery, beautiful story, exquisite Chianti Classico as well as Chianti Reserva. The wine tour and tasting are fine well. The gardens are peaceful, grapes hanging overhead for the picking. Make sure you visit the restaurant!

We rented an apartment in this lovely old monastery/winery. The apartment was really big for the 5 of us, not that we're complaining. Everyone was welcoming even though we came in rather late and had no way of contacting them in time. The grounds and pool are really pretty and the breakfast is also pretty good. If you're in a...
