Very calm hotel, in general we may say that we liked it. But when compared to other toscana hotels price seems to be a bit high. Although we were in hurry in the morning to catch our train we had a perfect breakfast. Lastly, Thanks to the lady who served us before breakfast time.

Overall the hotel area is beautiful and staff friendly, but for the money we felt like we didn't recive much. Eating: We only had breakfast which was fine, but nothing special. The staff was friendly. Room: We had a lovely room in the building next to the mainbuilding, which was cute and clean. Despite the description, WIFI is NOT available... More

While we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Chianti, this hotel was too expensive for what we received. The service was fine, but not great. The food was fine. The hotel overall was fine, but again not the "Tuscan Dream" I was expecting, particularly for 250 euros a night! The location is incredibly difficult to find.

We loved our time at this hotel, we based ourselves here and day tripped around Tuscany, returning each night for dinner. The rooms are very comfy, we opted for the spa room which was lovely. The breakfast at the restaurant hotel is really good, traditional cured meats and cheese and salad etc but they do make eggs and bacon etc... More

Beautiful place but you definitely need a car we did not have one and it was very difficult to get around as there was no taxis. Staff were very nice and helpful we had a meal in the restaurant and it was delicious.

We were warned, but we missed the hotel for 8km, using Google maps. I think the trick is that you don't use name hotel, but rellais instead. We were late on arrival(it take two hours to find the hotel), but welcoming night staff made all just perfect. We stayed there for two days and everything was perfect. the building, rooms,... More

We were a group of 24 friends who rented the whole hotel/villa for a week. The approach is tricky but beautiful, the running stream provided the background sound for quiet sleeping & atmosphere. Greeting us all upon check-in were the cheerful owner, Aleza, butler & kitchen assistant, Bledy as well as our concierge for the week, Sandro Adoni. The villa... More

The warnings about the approach to the hotel are worth bearing in mind, but we went in a low-slung Mercedes soft top, well laden from a long holiday, and were quite able, slowly and with care, to negotiate the approach. And when you get there, it is beautiful. Not what you would call luxurious, but everything was there, and in... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A 14th century mill, which produced flour for almost 5 centuries for the surrounding area. The water necessary to move the mill wheels came from the nearby spring which still exists and can be reached on foot along an old track. In 1650 the mill was bought by a wealthy women- MonnaGinevra from Gaiole in Chianti and our restaurant is named after her today. The mill operated until the end of the 1700 after which it was abandoned. The present owners Daniele and Elisa were fascinated by its position with magical sounds and colours of nature. Even though, the remains of walls were entirely covered by shrubbery, ticket and trees, some of them as high of 5m., this young couple were determined to revive the mill. The recnstruction works starter in 2001. All original materials such as stones or beams have been reused; together with ceramic cotta forged from iron mix as well as the detail given to comfort and functionality at the same time to create a real harmony. Today this Old Mill is an excellent Hotel which offers its guests 14 comfortable rooms, the taste of a typical local kitchen, the pleasure to swim in two panoramic pools and the relaxation of our Health Centre. ... more   less
