I am several months late writing this review. Our family of 5 stayed here for 3 nights over New Year's. Marta and her mother are delightful hosts and went the extra mile in attending to our needs. They made reservations for us at a restaurant for a sensational multicourse dinner for New Year's Eve and also made suggestions and reservations...

We had a marvelous time in Modica, in part due to Frederica's help and great advice. She is one of the two charming daughters who help their parents manage Le Lumie. She spoke excellent English and I understand her sister does as well. Prior to our arrival date, she emailed us with advice that when we arrive in Modica we...

We stayed five nights in this delightful home away from home in a special, underrated city. Modica is not to be missed and neither is Le Lumie. Our hostesses (Anna and Frederica) were helpful, kind and not intrusive. For those who need coffee upon waking, the small common kitchen has an easily-operated espresso machine. We also kept soft drinks and...

What a wonderful place for a vacation! Walking through the gate into the courtyard was like stepping into a fairytale. B&B Le Lumie was such a great experience and a perfect spot to stay to tour the surrounding area (Noto, Ragusa, etc.). They have 3 modern rooms available, high ceilings, nice floors, comfortable beds, air conditioning, and amazing views :)...

We had the blue room which was really nicely decorated and cool in the Sicilian summer. That room doesn't have views but you feel like you're in the garden with plants by the windows. The room was nice and clean and spacious. The garden is a wonderful spot to have breakfast and the breakfasts were very good (quite sweet like...

Le Lumie is an amazing, small, boutique B&B which is run by a very friendly and accommodating family. The central location is perfect for exploring the city, yet is set back on a quiet street with wonderful views over the valley. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and modern with a wonderful private garden for breakfast. Federica even picked us...

Clean rooms, helpful family and a beautiful town. Would highly recommend. Location was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. Ask for the room with the view over the town. There is a communal drinks fridge as well. 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

From the beginning of our quest for a place in Modica, Marta was prompt, courteous, and informative. Our room had a balcony looking over the valley but it was more beautiful to sit in the courtyard/outside breakfast area which had a lovely view as well as a gorgeous setting of plants and artifacts. It is difficult to find the first...

Modica is one of the lovely Sicilian towns that is built on impressively steep hillsides, in this case on both sides of a valley, and features impressive Baroque architecture from the giant rebuilding project following the giant 1693 earthquake. You won't find any chain hotels in this town, but instead there are smaller accommodations such as La Lumie, which boasts...

We had a lovely 2 night stay with Francesca and her family. Very comfortable room with a lovely terraced garden/patio area looking out across the old town of Modica. Very helpful advice on places to eat and see. We particularly enjoyed the old part of Alt Modica a few hundred metres up the hill.
