Despite arriving at 11.30pm, over 4 hours later than planned due to a delayed flight, we were met with a warm smile and efficient welcome by the receptionist who had stayed on with the night porter until our arrival. It typified the friendly staff who, without exception in all teams, gave 101% throughout the week to ensure we had a perfect break.
Food was regional, plentiful and excellent throughout, whether for breakfast on the terrace, in the restaurant, Trulio di Nino, or poolside at lunchtime.
We had a junior suite which was spacious, airy with high ceilings and enjoyed sunshine throughout the day on the large balcony. Doors on two corners allowed for a pleasant autumn breeze to flow through.
There were two other restaurants within a few minutes walk which were good and the lovely town of Martina Franca within a brisk 30 minute walk. Luckily we were there with friends for 5 of the days who had rented a car which was great for exploring the region (itself a treat especially in the very good autumn sunshine we enjoyed). Public transport was minimal and a car is essential for more than a few days stay if you want to make the most of Puglia.
For us, visiting during the quieter shoulder months was perfect, it did mean that not all of the hotels facilities/facilities were open and is worth noting although the staff more than compensated ensuring we had whatever we were looking for.
Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the hotel to anybody seeking a peaceful break in paradise or base to explore the wonderful surrounding areas.

Beautiful hotel, with fabulous restaurants, the Trully restaurant on the edge of the resort is authenticly stunning and the food reflects the local area, we came for our honeymoon and are not disappointed, we have tried the spa, enjoying amazing full body massages and fantastic gym, plunge pool, jacuzzi, and sauna.... The outside pool area is never too busy and has a great poolside bar..... Rooms are spacious, air conditioned and cleaned regularly to high standard....... About 15 minutes by taxi to the city centre which is vibrant and home to more fabulous rastaurants,

Visiting for an extended family wedding, we found a real treasure - a delightful boutique hotel in a wonderful setting, with excellent accommodation and good service.
Our room was well appointed and comfortable, maintained to a very high standard and with every amenity we needed and more. Public spaces are decorated to perfection, airy and welcoming and all contained in lovely old buildings with the look and feel of a grand villa.
The staff are friendly and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble and all spoke sufficiently good English to ensure that these non-Italian speaking guests were very well looked after.
The wedding was arranged to perfection and the lovely settings, excellent food and great service made this a weekend to remember for the happy couple and their guests alike.
Breakfast is ample with selections to suit every taste and all delivered in beautiful surroundings and although we had limited opportunity to enjoy the restaurant, our one visit was excellent, with welcoming staff and great food.
Service was very Italian, with timescales unpredictable but in this setting, with no rush and being focused on relaxation and pleasure this was a part of the Italian experience and added to our enjoyment rather than detracted from it.
All in all, Villa San Martino offered us a most enjoyable and relaxing experience in beautiful surroundings with the added benefit of an exquisite wedding to enjoy, orchestrated by the bride and groom but delivered perfectly by the Villa San Martino team. Thoroughly recommended!

It doesn’t get much better than this. The Villa is gorgeous inside and out. The service was spectacular every where we went, including the front desk, the pool and the breakfast service. We throughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. We enjoyed the lovely pool and lounge chairs. We had lunch by the pool and the food and drinks were fantastic. We booked deep tissue massages at the spa and they were wonderful. I want to add that we had a wheelchair user in our group and the staff went out of their way to make everything easy. The entire Villa, room, pool, and breakfast dining area was accessible. You really feel like you are staying at a luxurious Villa amongst a beautiful garden and Olive trees.

We had the most beautiful wedding at this absolutely stunning villa. With around 50 guests, the villa provided the perfect setting, and everyone was in awe of its beauty. The food throughout the weekend was absolutely spectacular, with live cooking stations that were a massive hit with our guests.
Giulia was fantastic throughout the entire process—attentive, accommodating, and always ensuring everything ran smoothly on the day. Her support in the months leading up to the wedding was invaluable and made the planning stress-free.
Also a special mention to Elena, who worked her socks off serving our guests at breakfast!
The food for the whole weekend was on another level. The table settings were beautifully done, and everyone kept commenting on how amazing the food was.
The villa itself offers so many different areas, which kept the weekend exciting for our guests. We hosted a pizza party on Friday in the charming traditional Trulli restaurant, had our wedding ceremony in another area with beautiful canopies and live cooking stations, and celebrated the wedding dinner and after-party in the amphitheatre. The next day, we enjoyed a relaxed BBQ by the pool. The variety of spaces meant we never had to leave the villa, making it a unique and immersive experience for everyone.
And to top it off we got legally married on site which js unusual as most venues in this region you have to go to the town hall.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding!

We have just had the most wonderful 4night stay here. We stayed because my brother was getting married and had celebrations across 3 days and at each one the staff could not have worked harder or have been more friendly and lovely. We travelled with a 3year old and 11month old and so needed at times to ask for additional things and nothing was ever made to feel like too much trouble. From the moment we arrived whenever we were seen by a member of staff we were greeted in such a friendly manor.
The way the hotel and staff worked around my brothers wedding was first class and this for a wedding venue I could not recommend more. It is not only a stunning location but the food was delicious with such an incredible variety. The hotel itself has a beautiful clean pool with comfy sun lounges and plenty of areas to sit and relax in as well. Thank you so much to everyone who made my brother and sister in laws wedding magical and our stay fantastic!!

Beautiful property in the heart of the Itria valley. Unfortunately, with regret, I must point out that there is no shadow of the past management approach. Already for a few years we could see the difference: scarce staff, rough routine maintenance and such pleasant poolside services zero. After the last disappointing experience (room with broken air conditioner, poor cleaning) by most attributable to the shortage of staff in the post covid period I wanted to give it a second chance. Unfortunately, the situation has not improved, quite the contrary! Dusty rooms (for a week there was no dust in the areas not immediately visible), poor information of events (I always attended the Ferragamo dinner but this year no one told us anything! I found out about it on 14 at 7 pm, when a hasty and ill-mannered "miss" contacted me in the room asking if I was attending the evening and my reply "I knew nothing about it" just closed the conversation). Last but not least in order of cogency the presence of rude guests accompanied by children without any rules who screamed, shouted, splashed water in the pool, quietly tolerated by the management, making the place homologable to any tourist resort. Well, if these are the management choices I wish you luck. Many old customers will leave or have already left. Stars matter little if you do not guarantee a suitable environment and the presence of guests at least respectful of the rules of civil life.

We spent six nights at the Villa San Martino together with our children and grandchildren. We are a large needy group of 8 adults, 2 children and 2 babies under one! Nothing was to difficult for the hotel to handle. The entire staff especially Julia, Alessandro and Sophia were all wonderful, taking care of anything we needed. One large obstacle that they dealt with was my husbands lost luggage which they totally assisted with making phone calls to assist with language and arranging a car service to pick up his suitcase at Brindisi airport. The babies needed milk for bottles, we needed help with what beaches to visit etc. I have been a travel agent for 40 years and love a smaller, calmer property and this fit the bill. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were so comfortable we didn't want to leave. The pool is so relaxing and a perfect retreat for all of us. We had a photographer come and do a photo shoot of our family as this was a special occasion trip and the property is breathtaking. We got such good pictures of our family with all of the wonderful background. The pictures on the website show the true beauty of Villa San Martino. The location was also perfect for us to visit the beautiful area of Puglia, a short drive to everything on our list. Don't hesitate to book this property when in this area, you won't be disappointed!

5 star rating was made special by the very friendly and attentive staff and they were great representatives for the hotel. The breakfast/dining area was a lovely terrace setting and breakfast and lunch was excellent and presented very well, more importantly the breakfast experience was made very special by the staff in attendance, very friendly, mostly very efficient and prompt, really great service providers they were, they provided a 6 star service, well done. The grounds were lovely with a lovely calm atmospheric ambience about the place. The pool area was lovely and attended to by a very efficient staff member all the time. Wi-Fi was poor very often, a lot of ambient noise from incessant dogs barking from neighbouring properties, even late into the night. The room air conditioning was noisy, and noticeable more in the quiet of night. But what was very disturbing was that the hotel permitted animals and on some mornings at breakfast guests had dogs and cats at the breakfast tables and in one instance one owner had the cat sitting on the seating at the breakfast table, that leads me to think was the cat and the dogs sleeping in the guest beds also? The hotel should enforce a no animal policy, especially in dining areas. Despite this I would definitely return to this hotel. Great stay.

On the way to Arbelobero we decided to stop here. We met Alessandro who was very SIMPATOCO and gave us all options. We ended up taking a room not in the main building which was small but clean and modern. Before continuing to tour Alberobelo in the afternoon we both had wonderful 50 minutes massage at their health center. It was a cloudy day so we didn't have a chance to use the pool . Breakfast was excellent with probably the best omlette we had in our trip. Dinner was only OK. Not more. Alessandro and later Sophi were.noth very nice and helpful. After breakfast we had the chance to your the wine caller which is amazing Recommended
