Fantastic start to the New Year.
Love this place 10 years in and will be back !!!
Big thanks to Gary, Dave and all the staff for looking after us, nothing was too much trouble.
Great location close to the village centre with ski in ski out, can’t stress enough what a bonus that is🎿👍
La Caverne (the bar) offers great value food at lunch time and would highly recommend trying the Mutzig draught beer, please go steady though 😬 🍺🤪
Thanks guys see you soon 🌧👍

Just returned from this great place in the centre of the Les Arc and La Plagne ski area with 4 friends.
The location is spot on being close to the link to La Plagne which can be accessed after just going up one lift. You can ski straight off the decking area down to the main Vallandry gondola meaning you can get to the other areas very quickly. Our room was a triple with mezzanine floor for one bed giving us quite a lot of space and it was in the traditional chalet style decor.
The food was good and as expected for a quite large chalet hotel type place. Good variation and taste and the wine was also very drinkable compared to places I have been in the past.
One great thing to mention is the bar / restaurant La Caverne which is linked to the hotel which serves good food at lunch which is much better value than all the places on the mountain and in the villages. The local beer served too is also good value for the French Alps so definitely worth travelling back at lunch for refuelling here.
The main men running the place, Gary and Dave were extremely helpful and friendly and were more than happy to help out with any information.

Remember that this is a very large chalet rather than a hotel. It's position is one of its best features, as not only is it truly ski-in/out but the nearby bus stop allows easy access to Arcs 1800, 1600 and 2000, etc.
The Ski Olympic Staff were very friendly and helpful, even carrying everyone's luggage from the drop off point and leaving it outside our rooms, which had been pre-allocated, so check in was virtually unnecessary.
My room was huge compared with what you'd normally expect in French ski resorts. The beds were very comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water. Room was clean and had plenty of towels. There was plenty of storage space.
La Foret has its own ski hire facility and, though I didn't use this, others seemed happy with the equipment and the prices. The ski/boot room had plenty of space and effective boot heaters. Once kitted up, an easy track down to the Vallandry lift is accessed directly from the outside terrace.
Evening meals were typical chalet fare. The excellent range of canapes on the first night and the duck on the last night were highlights but all meals were acceptable with good amounts and more vegetables than you would usually get in France.
Breakfasts did let the food side of things down somewhat. Some hot options were not too bad but others were poor. There should have been a full continental option as well as a hot option, as is usual in most chalets and hotels. In fact, the best breakfasts were probably the days when a normal continental selection of meats, cheeses, cereals, croissants, etc., was offered.
I would happily go back to La Foret but would not take children who were beginners there. The area round Vallandry is not noted for its nightlife but buses run to Arcs 1800 and back until quite late.

A very well run ski chalet hotel 10 yards from the La Foret ski run with fantastic views of the Isere valley. Gary and Dave are experienced ski chalet managers with years of experience. They run a good ship and choose a great team of staff.. really nice people. The food is simple and wholesome and there's plenty of it. Everywhere in the chalet was spotless. The bedrooms were simply furnished and decorated and the bed was very comfortable. We hired excellent skis from the chalet This was our second visit. We'd recommend it. There is a lovely terrace to sit outside and admire the view. And a bar to while away the evening.

Well having just returned from a week in this chalet hotel just wanted to say what an amazing time we had.
The hotel location is second to none. You literally ski in and out with the piste running right past the decking on the front. Also located only 1 lift from the link to La Plagne. Absolutely amazing skiing on both sides of the 2 resorts.
The hotel was lovely and friendly staff who were happy to help with anything, the food was good and plenty off it. All run very well from Gary and Dave all the way down throughout all the staff. I've had years of holidays with Ski Olympic and Gary especially from the late 90's he always ran a great team. I would definitely return to this chalet. The views from the front overlooking La Plagne are amazing. I would also recommend stopping here for lunch and a beer as its way cheaper than up on the mountain and the chilli chips were GREAT 😋 we didn't do it till late in the week but wish we had stopped there sooner for lunch. I would well recommend this place. 👌

Having just returned from a weeks break at Chalet-Hotel La Foret I'd like to pass on my thoughts. The location of the Chalet is near perfect, with great views across the valley from the huge decked area, instant access to the Piste and lifts from the same area, it's perfect, the boot drying room is new and works great. All the staff we encountered are really friendly and helpful, the food was plentiful and of perfectly good enough standard. Our room was on the backside of the building so didn't have a view from the balcony, but the room was clean and bed was comfy enough. Dave and Gary we're very helpful and oh yeah, the skiing are was absolutely fantastic. We have a brilliant break, thanks to Dave, Gary and ALL the team .

Great location. Food ok. Friendly and helpful.
There was plenty of staff who seemed to say that they had time time ski most of each day if they wished. Bedrooms spacious with baths in bathrooms. Ski and boot hire available on site. Main issue was they did not clean rooms or change towels during week

From landing to arriving in resort the staff were fantastic.
We stayed in the 6 berth chalet that was comfortable and ate in the main hotel where we were treated to great mountain food with table wine included.
Overall we had an excellent trip

Just leaving La Forêt after a great stay. We were in the self catered apartment so didn’t have the food. The hotel is truly ski in/ski out. Gary and Dave who run the hotel, couldn’t have been more helpful throughout our stay and made us feel very welcome and even looked after the kids one evening so we could go out.
The apartment was perfect. Spacious, clean and very well equipped in the kitchen. Great hot water and heating.
We really had a great time. Thank you to Gary and Dave.

As with many resorts, it just depends where you go. But if you're clever, you can get a coffee for €2 or €3 (espresso is only 90c at the Bulle above Arcs2000. Beer about €6. A pizza starts at about €9 but there are other places where you can spend much more.
