Spent one night at Manoir du Vaumadeuc as my mom and I were traveling through France together, and what a truly wonderful (too short!) stay we had. The chateau and property are historical and gorgeous, located in the countryside but plenty accessible to Dinan and St. Malo. Even O'Neill is a charming, welcoming host who made us feel instantly at... More

Stayed at this beautiful traditional property with a few friends completely unspoilt with open log fires, very inviting. Had room on top floor, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The host with help from family was excellent. Had a Seafood Night which I have never seen so much Lobster, Crab, Prawns, Languistine, Winkles, Whelks and my favourite of Oysters as much... More

Three of us stayed for two nights and totally agree with all the compliments that have been made about the Manoir and Even, a truely friendly and compassionate host. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, so peaceful and quiet as there's no television or radio. Ceilings are high, supported by wooden 500 year old oak beams. My cousin had a... More

I hardly ever write reviews on this site, but I felt I had to make an exception for this place. Set in undulating grounds that show off the very best of Brittany's countryside, discovering Manoir du Vaumadeuc felt like we'd hit the jackpot. It's a beautiful country manor just outside the village of Pleven, and when you see it in... More

The place is first and foremost about its host. Mr O'Neil is most affable, with a wry sense of humor and a keen sense of hospitality; he welcomed us as if we were friends with a shared kinship. A master in the art of conversation the way it is practiced in aristocratic circles, he managed to make us sound smarter... More

Had a fantastic weekend in this Manoir. The rooms are large and each one with individual decor. Evan, the owner and host, has a quirky sense of humour and his son helped in the bar at night. A well run family business. The Manoir lies in a beautiful setting and is close to many nice areas of Northern France. Well... More

I recently had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at this manor as part of a smalll walking group, and we all agreed that it is a very special place. Each room was different, but wonderful in this historic house, which dates from the 1600's, although some parts of the estate are even older. Evan O'Neill, the host, is a... More

As you arrive at the Manoir via a leafy lane and pass through the stone gate you realise you have found something that little bit special. Evan the owner was there to greet our group, a number of which were return visitors, it was a warm and friendly greeting. Entering the building you are greeted by an amazing room steeped... More

This place is truly special, photographs really do not do it justice. There is such a sense of space, history, comfort and peace. We have been lucky enough to travel all over the world and yet have found ourselves thinking of Le Manoir de Vaumadeuc since we have come home. The truth is we miss it! M. O'Neill is genuinely... Spent two days in the company of the truly fantastic Mon. O'Neil (a direct descendant to the legitimate thrown of Ireland), and his fabulous home. Beautifully located, a peaceful getaway and perfect antidote from the madness of every day life. A couple we met did not want to leave, and I could understand why when my time came, the serenity...
