We stayed for 3 nights, and wished it could have been longer. Karen and her family were very welcoming hosts and gave us loads of local information and ideas to make the most of our stay. The breakfast was lovely, much of it freshly baked, and the best coffee we had found in Sri Lanka! We also enjoyed paying their pets some attention as, we were missing ours! Thanks again!

We stayed at Waterfalls Homestay two years ago, & knew that we would have to return. It is the most beautiful place that we have stayed in, the rooms are so stylish & private & have splendid views, particularly of the Waterfall. A highlight was the monkeys that would jump down on the balcony in the mornings, some carrying babies, so magical to watch. Kiah, the lovely daughter of the owners was managing the homestay, & could not do enough for us, she was always on hand to give advice. The breakfasts were so delicious, including homemade muffins & bread & served on a beautiful terrace overlooking the Waterfall. It is such a place of relaxation & beauty & we were very sad to leave. Thank you again Kiah for your kindness.

Waterfall homestay is a lovely destination to stay in the tourist town of Ella. I felt very at home and relaxed with Australian Kiah (host) and the friendly animals. Her and her husband were helpful with providing a walking map of local landmarks and areas to visit. I stayed in the verandah room which was large and beautifully decorated. The view from the homestay is breathtaking. The breakfast is generous and delicious. It's a fairly easy walk down the mountain into the Main street of town. I recommend the homestay and assure you will feel comfortable and at home in their care.

Wonderful homestay with lovely hosts. We had such an amazing time in Ella and loved having Waterfall homestay as our base. The breakfast was amazing and the views stunning from the terrace. Big shout to Kiah who was amazing, thank you for all your advice and being so welcoming! Shame we didn't see a Porcupine... Would recommend doing the Amba Estate tea tour as recommended by Waterfall Homestay.

This lovely home is about a ten minute Tuck Tuck drive from the centre of Ella - to be honest that is such an advantage, you are well away from all the noise, hustle & bustle, if you're wanting a good nights sleep! This is very much an Ozzie homestay run by a great couple, Martin and Karen, who's personality shined bright and made all of us feel very much at home and comfortable, they even had Vegemite! Probably the best Breakfast, really set us up for the day ...... can you believe it Home Made Bread to die for! Rooms are all very comfortable, could probably do with a fan when the temp is up, good showers/towels/sheets/bedding. Both Karen and Martin gave us great tips for the local area and seem well connected. They're happy to call you a Tuck Tuck to get you on your way…

Everything relating to our stay at Waterfalls Homestay was perfect. Our studio room home for 6 nights was so homely and spacious, with incredible views. The breakfast and coffee (Karen or Kyra made me a special strong brew each morning) was the best during our 14 day stay in Sri Lanka. The bread and muffins were homemade each morning! On our final morning, we were treated to a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast with dahl and roti - absolutely delicious. Furthermore, our wonderful hosts helped us with our daily itinerary - making suggestions and giving us little tips along the way.... and then organising the transport. We felt completely pampered. I cannot recommend this homestay enough...did I mention the lovely quiet setting with the most incredible views of the hilly surrounds?…

Best breakfast ever with an amazing view. Beautiful guest house with very welcoming and friendly hosts. Loved the monkeys in the morning. A short tuk tuk away or a beautiful walk away from Ella center.

If you are looking for somewhere different, welcoming and wonderful to stay when you are in Ella stay here. Karen, Martin and their daughter Kia are absolutely lovely with a fabulous home that looks out through the trees across to a waterfall. Kia cooks fresh muffins and bread to go with your breakfast each morning which are delicious. They are happy to suggest walks/things to do, one of which was walking along the railway line to the waterfall which was amazing. My daughter and I had a lovely bedroom with ensuite which was just off the veranda. They were also very happy to keep you topped up with bottles of nice cold drinking water. We were very sad to leave, thank you again, Karen, Martin and Kia. PS love my custom denim jacket, nice to have something completely different…

Best breakfast and best coffee in Sri Lanka. Run by a warm family that makes you feel like home. The view is a perfect bonus. Our stay was amazing and we got many helpful recommendations about good local businesses and places to visit.
