Hotel Essencia is too far from being essentially Filipino or Philippine. From the hotel's architectural design to the interiors, the decors, the food -- almost everything is Western copycat as if there is nothing about Negros Oriental's culture and its arts that is worth incorporating in its design and ambience! The room assigned to me is the worst. It's spacious...

Nice, newer hotel with clean, spacious rooms. The first room we stayed in had a musty odor, but the staff changed us to a another room promptly. Friendly, accommodating staff. The only real issue we had was with the internet speed and reliability, but this is often the case throughout the Philippines. Hopefully this will improve in the future. Overall...

The hotel offers clean, spacious rooms. It is a save hotel and with walking distance to nice restaurants along the boulevard and to the center. I found the breakfast a bit poor (for westerners), i believe that for breakfast asian style its ok. I stayed there twice for one night during one week. Wifi in the room on my floor...

We book for a family room but we are just allowed to stay for 3 person. Need to pay 500 for the extra person. Aside from this it was a good overnight stay at the hotel. The hotel is near the tourist spot in Dumaguete ( boulevard, siliman university,st.catherine cathedral, belfry). If you want a city tour there is a tricycle...

One of the top hotels in my opinion here in dumaguete. Very comfortable beds and very clean linens and towels. And i love the fact that they have accessible water dispenser in every floor. The only down side is that they dont offer tea and coffeemaking area in the room. The breakfast is good as well.

Stay here for 3 nights and I would say it will pass for a 2 star rating. Basic needs are in the room except for a good hand soap (they refill with small amount of soap and lots of water), good wifi and complimentary water. Althought there was a water dispenser in the hallway, hotels do not offer that kind...

Very clean rooms and accomodating staff. It's within the business, social and academic hubs of the city. Everything you need like toiletries and the amenities in the room, are provided generously. i would like to stay at Essencia everytime I visit Dumaguete.

Let us start with the pluses. The hotel is in a prime spot, the city's main attraction (Rizal boulevard) is just about 3 blocks away. The pastry pasalubong Sans Rival shop and bistro, the church, the market, the mall and supermarkets are nearby too, along with many restaurants. The hotel has a spa (rates are friendly) and a pasalubong area....

We got 2 twin beds for a minimal cost, with breakfast included for less than 2k. We were fetched from airport to hotel for FREE. Reception crew were.courteous. Only downside factor is the "old house" smell in the room when we first came in. Overall we had a pleasant experience in this hotel.

Very happy the level of service, the rooms where lovely with all furnishings you could expect to have and including alot of safety features which I have not seen in any other hotel in the Philippines including fire masks, emergency torches etc. It has balcony's scattered around the hallways with good views, mainly used for smoking as it is not...
