Spent a night in September with my husband, daughter and son-in-law at the jungle camp. We enjoyed the whole experience from the bus trip to the boat and trip down the river to the camp. Staff were very friendly and helpful and meals were of a great standard. Rooms were basic but clean and spacious. We took two boat trips...

This was my second trip to Kinabantangan Jungle Camp. Robert and his team treated us like family. The boat runs were great with very knowledgeable guides. No hurry and informative. I especially liked the night run. The facilities at the camp was very comfortable and cabins roomy. Wild pigs, gibbons and large lizards frequented the camp. The resident black squirrels were...

After reading the very positive reviews on tripadvisor, we were very much looking forward to our stay at KJC however ended up slightly disappointed and found it rather expensive for what you get in return Positive points: great location in the middle of the jungle, excellent food (congratulations to the chef) Negative points: -we were a bit disappointed by the...

After a lot of research we ended up booking the Kinabatangan Jungle Camp. It was a big hit. This is a small scale camp, far away from a crowded resort. We were picked up by car in Sepilok by Roberts brother and were provided a lot of interesting and valuable information on the 2 hour journey down to the river...

My friend recommended this to me, I probably wouldn't have found it otherwise! All booking was done via email which was a little scary but totally not an issue! We happened to be the only people staying there for the three nights - this was a bonus as the staff were fully attentive and seemed to appreciate us being there....

I was accidentally early for my appointment by a day, having booked a mistaken date, and yet in my correspondence by email and phone with Robert he assured me it was fine and gave me a room and boat tours no problem. Also, in addition to the excellence of the boat tours, the buffet dinner is pretty damn good! Robert...

The guides were amazing. We were able to spot owls, crocodiles, kingfisher and even a frog in the night cruise. We saw orang utans, proboscis monkeys, hornbills... It is a well maintained place in the jungle close to nature. They even have kid sized life jackets for my kids. Great food. My kids, 12, 10, 7, 3 had a great...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Kinabatangan Jungle Camp was established in the year 2004 in the lower Kinatangan Wildlife Sanctuary near the village of Bilit. The whole concept is simply truly jungle. Today, many repeat visitors especially birders still come to KJC to search for the very illusive Bornean Ground Cuckoo and others still try their luck to see the Clouded Leopard. ... more   less
