The Makuti Beach Bungalows were absolutely fantastic for us. I think you'd struggle to find a more impressive beach anywhere in the world, it's simply stunning. The pool area is immaculate and the swimming pool is beautifully warm. The atmosphere is relaxed and the management and staff will do anything to make your stay as relaxed and enjoyable as possible....

Been to makuti twice now and can't recommend a better place to recharge your batteries! Mabel, Peter and the team are wonderful hosts who will accommodate your every need. Hassan especially made our two stays perfect. Try the kite surfing down the beach if the weather permits!

We landed on Zanzibar on Christmas day and to our horror the resort we had reserved informed us that they had no room for us due to overbooking. Peter (owner of Makuti) and Axel (manager) went out of their ways to rescue our family Christmas for us and re-arranged some rooms in order to accommodate us late on Christmas for...

The location is very nice, directly in front of the beach. Room #7 is the closest to the beach and the room above it. All rooms have a small veranda which is quite nice. The room (#7) we had was of ok size, clean, and the bathroom quite big. Later in the evening, there was a problem with the electricity...

Had a fabulous time at Makuti! The room was beautiful, the service was excellent, the food was fresh and tasty- wonderful. In a quiet location with other activities, restaurants and nightlife a short walk or taxi ride away. The breakfast is lovely: fresh fruit, eggs, delicious bread, tea and coffee. A great way to start the day. The owners are...

We stepped onto the soft sand of this hotel and were greeted with the kindest hello and biggest smile from Abdulli. The ocean was rolling up on the beach right beside the hotel's restaurant...it is a breathtaking place. Be excited for low tide...the ocean tide goes out almost 1 km and there are seaweed farms everywhere, a very interesting sight...

My boyfriend and I travelled to Zanzibar after a week of Safari and found Makuti to be a great hotel to stay at. On arrival there was a problem with the electricity in our room but Peter upgraded us instantly to a superior room - we then stayed in this room for the duration of our stay. The food was...
