We arrived at Beach Baby at short notice due to issue with previous booking. We were met by Lisa and she left no stone unturned to make our stay a great one. A fire was arranged and we were treated to a "lekker braai" SA style with "Best Braai Broodtjies" in Zanzibar. Darts competions at night was great fun. Rooms are very comfortable and cant beat the sunset from the upper deck. We had a great time!

Ok, did quite a long stay here, over three weeks, the jefe is doing great price deals in comparison with the alternatives on the east coast of the island. Rooms your standard three star hotel, en-suite, with smashing showers, flow strength and heat to desired level. Bed linen and housekeeping immaculate and professional. Lovely staff, easy going and amenable, great design, wooden pillared open walled straw roofed lounge area overlooking the ocean a hundred yards in front. Great spot, good vibe, nice peeps about the beach, recommend! Thanks, made our first family holiday super special. Will he back.

How can I start... It's the only place in our 18 days of tour in Zanzibar where I felt uncomfortable. We arrived and there was no one to give us the key of the room, when finally someone appears, 2 hours later, they say someone keep the key of the room, so we can not sleep there. They give us a 10 beds room, dirty as hell, without water in the toilet, with bugs and bugs eggs in the beds. So we are spending the night outside in the restaurant sofa because it's unhealthy spend it inside the room. And the wifi... Better not talk about it. They switch it off when you are using it. There is only one kind person of the staff, but she couldn't do anything for us. The manager apologize and invite us to have dinner there, but, they never give us anything to dinner. No one should to be hosted here.

Visit during November which is the off season. Just had a beer to quench the thirst and get a reprieve from the hot sun. Decor okay for a backpackers and the pool area was nice and relaxing. Was a bit to quite with no one around.

Very poor restaurant service. Even thought they say you can eat when and what you want...u still wait an hour and a half for a salad. They go to the market to buy as needed. And even though u tell them what u want and the time....u still wait. It is way too pole pole for that. Breakfast is fine. No choice of chips to pancake or toast. Zero dusting in months. Eat poop in lounging couches. No fans and because they are meters back from the beach and behind locals houses...no wind gets up there. Thank God the room had a fan stand. Beds were good enough. 5 days and our stuff started to mold. Stairs are sketchy so if u have trouble walking or a cane...good luck. Serving staff has too poor English. And they act like they understand but they don't. I had to use my Google translate and even then. Smokers everywhere. Gross when it surrounds the dining area. Spotty Wi-Fi so don't plan on being g able to research your next destination from there. Annoying sellers in beach. Even if u say no I don't like for 4 days straight ...they still hound you. I started speaking a different language and they gave up. So not peaceful. Can't imagine high season. This hotel also doesn't have chairs and umbrellas on beach. Brutal. Better restaurants 5 minute walk away on beach..wither direction. And please..please clean the garbage in the walkway between your entrance and the beach. DISGUSTING. AND A SHAME. the hotels are between villagers homes and they do not value mother nature. Garbage everywhere. Ironic that they have a sign in a building stating...please respect our village. Local ladies dumping fish guts in the beach right by where you swim. Brutal smell as u lie peacefully on the beach. Spend a bit more for ac, or at least a ceiling fan.
