I stayed here for 3 full days and it was just perfect. We had a 1st floor room which had outstanding views and was very comfortable with constant hot water. It was very hot when we sun bathed around the pools or on the beach so we also chilled out in the bar/reseraunt/lounge area which is outstanding. A fully stocked...

We loved our time at Sunshine. The pool area is so nice and because the resort is small it is very quiet, which we loved. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The food was the best we had while in Zanzibar! Amazing spices. The beach in general at Matemwe was not our favorite and that would be anywhere in...

We loved our 4 days at Sunshine Hotel and would have liked to stay longer. It was the perfect place right on the beach to relax after more adventurous activities! Our room was exactly what we would have wanted for a beach-side retreat and had beautiful ocean and garden views. Agree with other reviewers- ask for a second floor room,...

I came to Sunshine Hotel from a bustling Stone Town and wanted to relax and retreat and it was perfect! The rooms are light, airy and spacious with great views towards the ocean from the balcony - very well thought-out hotel. The duo-pools are inspired and the space around them - truly lovely - you can, and I did, spend...

We stayed at Sunshine Hotel for six days and it was a fabulous time. The beach was incredibly white and realyy deserted. Only once we took advantage of the pool because the beach was great. The only caveat were the jellyfishes but no harm done. The food was spectacular and the rose wine very good. A plus for the unexpected...

Very cool place. Loved the ambience and chill out music. Also loved the complimentary bottle of wine for being on honeymoon. Great food. It is quite expensive but worth it although while I knew there was no a/c, it was very hot at night. Very friendly managers who were incredibly helpful - nothing was too much trouble.

Sunshine Hotel is the choice for those who want a beach vacation away from the busy pace of life. It is the best choice for Matemwe or for that matter anywhere on Zanzibar's northeast coast. This is not the place to be to party, take a jet ski, do a little para-sailing, etc... (these things can be done in Nungwi...

We stayed at the Sunshine Hotel on Zanzibar for six days after our safari and visit to Northern Tanzania. The Sunshine Hotel is located on Zanzibar’s northeastern shores near the small village of Matemwe. It is a relatively small property right on the Indian Ocean with an exceptionally beautiful white sand beach. The property has very nice and well maintained...

We stayed here for a week at the end of our safari and loved it. We had a first floor room with a great sea view and a lovely breezy balcony. The managers couldnt have been more helpful and really went out of their way to check everything was ok. Food was excellent too with the menu changing every night....

We stayed at Sunshine Hotel for just three nights. To bad, because we wanted to stay longer, a lot longer! We had the honeymoon suite, a beautiful room with a private garden connected to the beach. We even had a seaview from out our bed, which makes it extra special. The rooms are very nice and clean. The matrass is...
