Cozy and intimate dinner option. It is further away from the bustle of the main beach. Really excellent food and good service. Nice sea view if yiu sit by the sea wall. A pricier alternative but for us it was worth it.

The hotel is quite good and well located, but the rate is too high according the service, and the swimming pool is not so huge and the water too hot. The dishes at the restaurant are good, but the service is too slowly. Affortunately, very close to the hotel by the magnific beach there are a lot of restaurants just...

I booked a package through Yoga Zanzibar, which also included two days at Divine Diving and a weeks accomodation at Flame Tree. I knew the location was good from reviews and pictures, but they didn't quite do the beach and sea justice. I was walking on a postcard picture. Swimming right in front of the hotel was gorgeous, and totally...

We wanted to have relaxing few days in Zanzibar and Flame Tree Cottages made all our wishes come true. Before our holidays we communicated with Elizabeth via e-mail and she was really helpful and understanding. Every room is a little individual cottage with small veranda facing the pool and garden where the breakfast is served. There is restaurant by the...

My husband and I spent 9 nights here in February 2017, in a king room (Bougainvillea). Flame Tree Cottages is a really nice, intimate, mid-range hotel - actually, at $170/ night, with only breakfast included, it’s one of the more expensive hotels we’ve stayed in, but, for Nungwi, where it’s difficult to find decent accommodation at low prices, it counts...

14 bungalows set amongst gardens although none with a sea view. Friendly but faintly disorganised. Bungalows are excellent with shower, large bedroom and small room with fridge, kettle and toaster. Restaurant/bar serving lunches and dinners (17,000 - 20,000tzs) with tables overlooking the sea. Also a dining room which bizarrely is not used with breakfast being served to the balcony of...

pictures are better than reality, but not here!!!The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, even on the balcony it's nice to spend time and cosy (with a perfect sea view ). The garden even the whole complex is beautiful, build with loads of love I feel. I'm really happy we found that place by just walking on the beach.

We have just come back from an amazing ten day holiday here. The bungalows are spacious and comfortable, ours was two bedroom, each with en suite with a lobby area with a fridge, toaster and kettle. There is a big verandah with tables and chairs, hammocks and a comfortable day bed. Breakfast is served here every morning, a choice of...

In contrast with the commercial excess of the large branded resorts in the area, the Flame Tree operation has a warm and personal atmosphere that was thoroughly enjoyable. The cottages are scattered throughout lush gardens filled with African plants, giving an authentic feel without any of the nasty stuff you also run into on Safari. Breakfast of your choice is...

We only stayed for one night during our cycle tour around Zanzibar. When we arrived there was no one at reception desk. After a few minutes someone came and showed us our room. The room was not ready yet, so we had to wait a bit ( which was not a problem at all ), but the reception guy dissappeared:...
