As it was the absolutely divine beginning of an absolutely divine journey to New Zealand, there's no doubt that we're going to visit Aoturoa again, if we have the chance. Food and drink selection, landscape, architecture, garden and interior design - simply everything in and around the beautiful "House of Light" ist perfectly tuned by the most kind hosts we've...

We had a great time staying at Aoturoa. Jon and Lesley are welcoming and warm hosts, and.... they make a fabulous breakfast ;-) The room had a great view, the river is only 2 minutes walk from the house and we were made to feel at home. Close enough to Wanaka for easy access but far enough to enjoy the...

What a place to just charge the batteries. Aoturoa is stunning and lovely situated - picturesque in one word. Also, the hosts are just amazing - very helpful - and they make a divine breakfast and dinner. The latter is of course extra but it is worth it - and it also makes you able to enjoy a good bottle...

We enjoyed the natural beauty and setting, which made us fall in love with the Wanaka area. Our kids loved going to collect eggs from the hens and just having the freedom to run...

A wonderful haven of peace & natural beauty, only improved by the wonderful charm of our hosts. We first stayed here in 2005 and December 2010 was our third visit. We will certainly be back again.

We loved our stay at Aoturoa! It is nestled with a stunning backdrop right next to the river. Along with the beautiful natural surroundings it has luxurious rooms and we truly felt looked after and spoilt with the deep baths, new zealand products and the personal hospitality of Jon and Lesley. They catered for my vegeterian diet while my partner...
